About this deal

Kay Cove, who was born in Colorado Springs but raised all over the place (thanks, military! ), enjoys blowing raspberries on her sons’ super pudgy baby bellies, going on long hikes in the snow, and engaging in heated debates with her husband over the distinction between different species of turtles and tortoises, Marvel facts, and, most crucially, the whereabouts of the remote control. Mostly though, I had an issue with a lot of women vs women in this book. I HATE the catty jealous trope in books and it happened with every single woman except for his cousin in this book. Every woman the FMC interacted with was somehow fat shaming her, trying to steal the MMC from her, or treating her like shit. I know it was to create drama but it got old fast and really turns me off of a book. What she didn’t expect is for his smoking hot neighbor to show up hoping to use the hot tub like he always does. What flavour this book has!! A pleasant surprise awaits you. In my honest view, it only deserves a three out of five. I’ll admit, that shit hurted. I felt eviscerated with every word out of Mason’s mouth on Avery’s behalf. But I thought, OK, get away from that toxic sewer rat and let’s START this self-love journey while having the hottest, filthiest sex imaginable.

Avery has just been dumped by her boyfriend on her birthday, right after he kind of accidentally proposed to her. So what does she do? Decides that she will take up her client friend on an offer to take care of his fish for the summer while he’s away on vacation. That means moving from LA to Las Vegas for the summer. And she just happens to have a neighbor that’s the hottest man she’s ever seen. After her ex telling her the reason he wanted to break up was because of her being boring in the bedroom and bad at sex, added to the fact that she’s plus size woman uncomfortable with her body, she feels terrible about herself. So, after getting to know Mr. Steamy next door neighbor, and learning he’s the sweetest, most perfect gentleman who treats women incredibly well, she decides to ask if he can teach her how to be better in the bedroom in exchange for rebranding his photography business. Camera Shy is a spicy contemporary, bedroom lessons, neighbors-to-lovers standalone romance that ends in a happily ever after. Intended for mature listeners. But after a passion-fueled summer, I'm not sure of who I am anymore, and it's clear that the worst heartbreak of my life might still be yet to come. I understand this book is about body positivity but seriously there was too much negativity that it got boring and samesy. Kay Cove is a contemporary romance author, passionate about crafting stories with sassy heroines, dirty talking MMCs, witty banter, and situations that force flawed characters to grow. After (surviving) a career in HR she became the CEO of a small, but mighty, virtual assistant company, before ultimately deciding to pursue her dream of becoming a published author. Some of her works include, the Love, Me & the 303 series, Camera Shy, and Whistleblower.A summer of intense emotion has left me questioning my identity, and it’s evident that the deepest heartbreak of my life may yet lie ahead. About The Author Kay Cove Finn just so happens to be neighbors with Dex. He runs a photography business that specializes in boudoir shoots and body positivity. Her neighbor for now is Finn, an adonis who can get every girl he wants. But the only girl he really wanted and loved was too toxic for him, and he had to let her go. Now, he just wants to keep away from relationships and one night stands. But Avery has caught his eye, and he is determined to make her see how beautiful she is. Finn is going to teach Avery how to feel beautiful in bed and out. She is a QUEEN, and he is going to make damn sure she knows what she's worth. And second, the bloated overuse of the women against women trope during Avery’s overall body confidence journey. For as long as she can remember, Kay has been writing. She has worked in human resources (and survived), is a startup addict, and was formerly the CEO of the world’s smallest virtual assistant firm. At age 30, she made up her mind to put pen to paper and share the novels she had spent so many sleepless nights and cups of coffee labouring over with the world. Camera Shy Book Summary

I don’t want to say too much, because it really is best to go into this book blind, but you need to read it. If you, in any way, struggle with insecurities, read this. It may make you out of your mind jealous of Avery having Finn, but it will make you smile, blush, and cry because of how amazing he is. How he treats her is my favorite part about this book. Queen is his favorite word to use with her, because to him, that’s what she is. His Queen. Finn, the MMC, comes from money, but in his mind, it’s dirty money. It’s his family’s money. It’s his father’s money. And after the way his father treated his mother, hell if Finn wants anything from that man. His real source of income is the boudoir (and general!) photography studio he runs with his cousin Lennox, though the business is barely staying afloat. With over a decade of professional narration experience and a member of SAG-AFTRA, Lee follows the directions of the manuscript, working to stay in the moment and not force anything, letting the natural story and characterizations do the work. Similarly, and unless otherwise noted, he prefers to keep accents as light as possible. With an easygoing general American dialect, he has a natural ear that translates to comfort with all American accents as well as British, European, Australian, Middle Eastern and whatever is called for. No BDSM, M/M, or nonconsensual/dark material.

I know. It’s not your fault. She’s been trying to prove all summer that she can handle sex with me. She’s trying to be more daring so she fits into this scene. This city. She thinks that’s what I want from her.” Not at all,” I reply. “Look, Cass, we’re not doing this anymore. You and I are going to keep our clothes on from now on.” I look around the room. “And I’m not coming here anymore. Gramps can donate Ruby’s for all I care. I don’t want anything in my life that comes between me and Avery.”” Avery.. I relate to her so much. The insecurities, the a**hole ex, the PITA (she’s a lot more than this but I don’t want to give anything away) best friend. She’s got a lot going for her - a good job, a long term boyfriend… then in the blink of an eye everything changes. Avery is celebrating her 30th birthday with her boyfriend when he tells her that he loves her but he’s not IN love with her anymore and thinks it’s time to call it quits - but still wants to work with her since they own a business together. But after a passion-fueled summer, I’m not sure of who I am anymore, and it’s clear that the worst heartbreak of my life might still be yet to come. This all leads into my other issue, the bloated overuse of the women against women in Avery’s overall body confidence journey. To get away from her heartache, she offers to housesit for one of her clients in Las Vegas. Her best friend tags along, but what's supposed to be a getaway for the two of them turns into a solo trip when Palmer gets an invitation to audition for a new show. There is a lot of inner dialog, and the book dives pretty heavily into both the MCs' jobs. You see the FMC learn to love herself and become more confident. She is a badass girl boss, and I loved seeing her be confident about her job. I'd give the spice a 3, maybe 3.5, and personally I loooove the praise kink!! Like pheww, d!rty talk to me all day every day lol.

Finn is one of my favorite book boyfriends. I love what he does for a living. Giving woman the gift of feeling empowered and confident through photographs. And I love it!! Even with everything that he went through in his past relationships, he didn’t let that change his view on women. My rating speaks for itself. It was the easiest thing to read because it was spicy, romantic, funny and relatable, especially for any girlie (or guy) with insecurities. On my thirtieth year on the planet, I thought I might get a ring. What I didn’t expect was for my boyfriend and business partner to break up with me because he couldn’t stand the thought of spending the rest of their lives with me and having nothing but boring sexual encounters.
