About this deal

To some extent this can be improved with a couple of better eyepieces but I personally would probably suggest moving to a nicer telescope such as the previously mentioned Orion Astroview 90mm refractor if you find you outgrow the Celestron Powerseeker 70AZ and still want more. The 76AZ comes with 2 1.25″ kellner eyepieces at focal lengths at 20mm and 10mm, a built-on starpointer red dot finderscope, a tripod, a Manual Alt Azimuth mount and a bunch of other documents. The Celestron Powerseeker line of telescopes is affordable, and therefore perfect for stargazers new to astronomy. They offer exceptional value, and feature portable yet powerful designs with ample optical performance to excite any newcomer to the world of amateur astronomy. The Powerseeker 76AZ has a Newtonian reflector, offering a larger aperture and greater light gathering power needed to resolve the faint detail of hundreds of deep-sky and other celestial objects. It has a 76mm aperture and 700mm focal length. Both planetary filters, as well as the Moon filter, can be used on any 1.25” eyepiece with the proper filter threads, so they are very versatile. Just screw one onto your eyepiece of choice and slide it into the focuser.

The Celestron AstroMaster AZ telescopes all use the same mount, which shares much of its design with the EQ versions’ CG-3 mount and tripod, the only difference being the design of the mount head. It attaches to the LT 76AZ optical tube and other tubes with a standard Vixen-style dovetail saddle. The parts are a mix of cheap, fragile metal alloy castings and a huge amount of plastic parts, even in crucial places like the fasteners and clamps for the tripod legs.As the tube is so small it shouldn’t be very surprising that the 76AZ will be quite portable out of the box too. The device should come in at around 6 – 7kg with the tripod weighing in at 3.45kg. The tripod is also quite limited in how high it can go with it ranging between 0.81m – 1.3m making it most comfortable for children more so than adults or taller individuals. Accessories Included In The Box The Zhumell Z100/ Orion SkyScanner 100 vastly outperforms the AstroMaster LT 76AZ with its larger aperture and wider field of view, along with similar provided accessories and a sturdy, easy-to-aim tabletop Dobsonian mount. Only you know how long you need to save this much? Only you know how long the 76 will keep you going. (I got 6 weeks out of my 1st scope) The current model of the Celestron Powerseeker 70AZ comes with an adequate 5x24mm finder scope (just barely), a 20mm eyepiece, a 4mm eyepiece (useless) and a 3x barlow (also useless).

That first telescope is much more important that most parents realize as it can help foster an interest in astronomy and science in general, or completely destroy the child’s interest. You probably wonder how that could be, and that is an excellent question.

Who wants to play a game where you never even have a chance of winning no matter how hard you practice and try? No one, that’s who. For the price you’ll be paying for the 76Az you shouldn’t expect great specs at all nevertheless, the 76AZ has an aperture of 76mm (3″), a focal length of 700mm resulting in a focal ratio of f/9.27. The larger focal ratio does mean that any spherical aberration and even coma will be reduced with narrower views being its stronger quality. image_1" : "https://img.karkkainen.com/images/e_trim:4/f_auto,q_auto/v1/tuotekuvat/50234210447/celestron-powerseeker-76az-tahtikaukoputki.jpg"

The 3xbarlow and the 20mm should be useable together as that gives equivalent of a 6.5mm eyepiece (20 divided by 3) and should be around x100 magnification (best you can get from your aperture) The Sky-Watcher Heritage 130 P has much larger aperture than the AstroMaster LT 76AZ with the same conveniences of the larger 150P such as its tabletop mount and collapsible tube, though it’s not much more compact than the 150P so we’d recommend the larger model if you can afford it.The optics are great for viewings faint objects in the sky as all types of light can pass through the lenses (this isn’t the case for a refractor telescope). No matter the case, assuming the mirrors are Newtonian reflectors they will have their benefits, particularly over the other 2 optical variants in refractor optics and compound optics (A hybrid of both the reflector and refractor optics). Then again you’d be hard pressed to find solid optics within this price range anyways. What Do The Celestron AstroMaster 76AZ’s Specifications Mean? image_1" : "https://img.karkkainen.com/images/e_trim:4/c_pad,f_auto,h_80,q_auto,w_80/v1/tuotekuvat/50234210447/celestron-powerseeker-76az-tahtikaukoputki.jpg" I don’t really penalize the Celestron Powerseeker 70AZ for doing what everyone else does, particularly since the quality of the scope is high enough for the price that I could simply throw away the 4mm eyepiece and barlow.

The 8" Dobs are a nice compromise between aperture and price, maybe not as good on planets and globular clusters as SCT but better for big stuff like nebula and open clusters due to the fact they can show a wider field of view. The Celestron AstroMaster LT 76AZ reflector telescope includes a pair of three-element eyepieces offering a 50-degree apparent field of view—a 20mm for 45x and a 10mm for 90x. There are better eyepieces for sure, but both of the supplied oculars are acceptable in quality and feature glass optics and plenty of eye relief, which unfortunately are not always a given with such a low-priced scope. You will probably not need any other eyepieces for the LT 76AZ. Whatever, don't rush into anything. Think about the things that are important for you and post any queries here.
