About this deal

Next steps for this one? I’d grab the Boarding Patrol box for the Chaos Space Marines and tact in those 630 points right off the bat. That will bring you up to 1375 + wargear. Plus, it will give you some much needed troop support. If you want to go up to a full 2000 point army you’ve got room to work with. Maybe a Land Raider to ferry your units and deliver a payload of Possessed to your enemy’s face? The Emperor’s finest are the prime bulwark against Abaddon’s nefarious schemes, and this Boarding Patrol is typical of their brutal efficiency in such matters. You’ll be able to face any foe with a highly customisable Primaris Captain in Gravis armour, five Heavy Intercessors, and 10 Assault Intercessors. The Warmaster himself leads a squad of 10 Legionaries – complete with a Kill Team upgrade sprue that adds numerous options for Boarding Actions mayhem, like the sorcerous balefire tome and butchering heavy chainaxe – with 20 fanatical Chaos Cultists tagging along to flood the corridors as meatshields. GW just revealed three new Arks of Omen box sets made specifically for playing boarding action games, but could also be used for regular 40k. In a world of bloody Boarding Actions, it’s easy to forget the colossal battles that define the 41st Millennium are still taking place. Balefleets are the cohorts raised by Abaddon and Vashtorr, tasked with collecting the artefacts needed to complete their meticulous plan.

Now, there is a bit of an elephant in the room (or a Maulerfiend? Can’t think of a 40k analogue off the top of my head). This particular elephant has been noted in the community, in that it seems to be a bit skewed to one God. Chaos Daemons, after all, encompass all four of the Great Gamers Chaos Gods, and the current Combat Patrol is already geared towards a Khornate Daemon force. Could Games Workshop have broadened their horizons a bit and made a Boarding Patrol for Tzeentch/ Slaanesh/ Nurgle Daemons to counter the Combat Patrol? As mentioned in the Boarding Patrol: Tyranids breakdown, we are now including points in these articles. however, I’m a painter, never played the game, don’t own a single codex and don’t know loadout limitations. So Jordan will be looking over and correcting these in the coming weeks as we do more.Abaddon is truly a nightmare on the board – with the Terminator keyword, he can go into reserve and deep strike wherever on the board in the next turn, so you have the option to place him next to a strategic point at a later point in the game. If there is an unclaimed objective too far for the opposing player to reach, Abaddon can be there in a hot minute. To maximise him properly, you may have to forego deep striking and keep him with the lads Legionaries to buff them up with hit re-rolls and wound re-rolls, buffs to charge rolls and a myriad of other abilities that justify his expense. He’s also been given the Agents of Chaos keyword, meaning he can be dropped into a Death Guard, Thousands Sons or World Eaters army (though that may come at an expense of some abilities in those respective armies, be warned). And to top it off, he cannot lose more than 3 wounds in a given turn, and his statline is eye-watering. Taller de juegos have really despoiled us with this one. The Boarding Patrol: Chaos Space Marines set offers a formidable force of Heretic Astartes infantry, specially crafted to wreak havoc upon foes in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. This one is strange because a lot of the value comes from the Plague Marines, and considering the reinforcements box is so expensive for three minis; it’s hard to say. Strike Force Agastus makes planetfall. In the company of a Brutalis Dreadnought, squads of heavily armed Desolation Marines rain down volleys of explosive ordnance across the battlefield, guided by a skilled Primaris Lieutenant as they pulverise even the toughest of foes in the Emperor’s name.

Two squads of three highly customisable Tyranid Warriors provide an adaptable, formidable core to claim the Ark. Meanwhile, eight fast-moving Genestealers – fielded as a squad of five – act as an insidious vanguard to a towering Broodlord.

Arks of Omen 40k Boarding Patrol Box Sets: Savings & Value Breakdown

I’m not a Chaos Daemons player, so it’s down to you to decide if you want to bite a smaller bullet to get a bigger force or if you’re plain old happy with this offering. Boarding Patrol: Chaos Daemons – Value Abaddon is truly a nightmare on the board – with the Terminator keyword, he can go into reserve and deep strike wherever on the board in the next turn, so you have the option to place him next to a strategic point at a later point in the game. If there is an unclaimed objective too far for the opposing player to reach, Abaddon can be there in a hot minute. This box can be used to assemble a variety of units – the recommended build for Boarding Action games is Abaddon the Despoiler, five Legionaries, and two Cultist Mobs of ten models each. A heady mix of daemonic power and debased Astartes ceramite, this Battleforce is the ideal way to throw in your lot with the Warmaster and start scouring the galaxy for the keys to victory.

Is the Space Marines Boarding Patrol Box Worth it?

This has a lot of value compared with the Space Marines box. However, you get the majority of it in Cultists and Abaddon, so if you don’t want either, then this is not worth it. This is a great value for those who need both cultists and Abaddon.
