This can be done by turning off the mains power switch, or by turning off the power coming into your home at your electric meter. IP65 DIN rail enclosures provide your equipment protection from dust and water and so the enclosure is safe for outdoor environments. If, like most doorbells in Europe, your doorbell only works at 8 or 12 VAC, your existing transformer won't have enough power to support your Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 and will need to be replaced by the included 24Vdc Ring DIN Rail Transformer. Refer to your local laws and building regulations before performing electrical work. Permits and/or professional installation may be required by law in your area.

To remove, spread the two sides of the housing outwards, and push the transformer unit up from below. In the Ring app, select Set Up a Device and follow the in-app instructions. The app will guide you through the setup, but you can refer to the below steps for additional guidance.

How to install Enclosure for Ring DIN Rail Transformer

The bypass cable disables and isolates your existing doorbell chime. This is necessary for your Ring Video Doorbell to get the power it needs, but it means your doorbell chime will no longer ring.

Connect the previously disconnected 230V high voltage line (brown) and neutral (blue) cables to terminals L & N on the bottom of the transformer.(ensure these are going into the correct input terminals). Therefore using a bell transformer for continuous use determines a temperature rise of the transformer which could cause it to stop supplying power, unless the work/pause cycle allows the transformer to sufficiently cool down. Enclosure for Ring DIN Rail Transformer provides an aesthetically pleasing solution that houses your DIN Rail Transformer and covers the footprint of your existing chime. It is designed to save you from needing to repaint the area where your chime was after removing it.In the example below, the terminals 0 and 3 are across the doorbell mechanism, and terminals 1 and 2 are connected via a jumper wire between the two terminals. Disconnect the two terminals that are either side of the solenoid/coil in the case of the example terminals 0 and 3. If your chime looks different, please consult your chime installation manual to identify the terminals either side of the solenoid/coil. Tips for identifying which side is your doorbell mechanism Disconnect the 4 wires from your existing transformer, and remove it from your fusebox or other install location. Connect these 4 wires to your new transformer, making sure not to swap the mains and secondary wires. Insert the wire ends into each clamp-down terminal, and tighten each connection with a small Phillips screwdriver. Make sure that each wire is securely clamped for a solid connection. Note: If you're installing on wood or siding, you can skip this step. 11. Connect the doorbell wires

CAUTION: If you use the wrong screws to secure the Video Doorbell Wired, you could damage the doorbell during installation, create a fire hazard and be seriously injured. You’ve now replaced your transformer and bypassed your existing doorbell. A successful bypass should look something like the image below. Now you’re ready to install your Ring Video Doorbell Pro!Moreover, regarding temperature testing it says “Temperatures are determined during a cyclic test of 20 cycles, each cycle consisting of 1 min operation with the simulated full load and 5 min operation with a load of 20% of the simulated full load.” To identify this you will need to locate the transformer, which is often installed in or near to your main electrical fuse board. It may be labelled doorbell transformer and needs to be low voltage (8 to 24 VAC) to power your Ring Video Doorbell Wired. Your transformer is most likely in your fusebox or consumer unit. If not, look in other places where electrical components are installed. It may also be inside your existing doorbell. You can often get a clue to the location of the transformer by looking under the cover of your internal doorbell. Mount your Video Doorbell Wired with the two included mounting screws. If you ran the wire through your wall, be sure to feed any excess wiring into the wall first. Remove the 230 V high voltage line (brown) and neutral (blue) cables from the input terminals and place to one side, ensuring that these are not touching any other cables, metal or conductive surfaces.

IP20 provides a low level of protection from large objects, for example fingers. It does not protect from water. Follow the sound to find your chime and make a mental note of the location. We'll return to your existing doorbell chime soon. 2. Turn off power at the consumer unit When choosing an enclosure it is essential to ensure it provides the necessary protection for your equipment. The reference standard EN 61558-2-8 does not specify a specific time but states “Bell and chime transformers are generally intended to supply domestic sound signalling equipment and other similar devices where the load is applied for short periods of time.”Loop one doorbell wire around each of the screw terminals on the rear of your Video Doorbell Wired, then tighten the terminals to secure. 12. Screw in your Ring Video Doorbell using hardware in bag A The Ring app connects your Ring Doorbell to your mobile device running iOS or Android, making sure you’re always home. Search for “Ring” in one of the app stores above, or to automatically find the correct app, visit ring.com/app. If you use a 24 VAC doorbell transformer, you’ll also need to bypass your existing doorbell using the Pro Power Kit V2 (pictured below), as most doorbells aren’t rated for use with a 24 VAC transformer. Using your Ring doorbell as a template, mark the location of the two mounting holes on your wall. 10.
