About this deal

Fairy’s pods are still highly effective in cleaning clothes and your laundry will likely emerge from your washing machine as clean as it would have been if you’d used a classic bio detergent. These pods also smelt amazing and I loved that the brand sells a fabric softener as well as scent boosters in the same range, meaning my clothes had an incredible fragrance to them. I really liked these washing pods, and knowing they were kind to sensitive skin was extremely important to me. What’s more, they came in a recyclable cardboard box, with each box containing a minimum of five percent plastic. Fairy’s non-bio pods are specifically designed for babies, as well as those with allergies or eczema, which means that they need to be sure that there are no skin irritants in the formula.

The Bold Spring Awakening pods smelt incredible and the scent is inspired by “classical fresh” and “refreshing citrus fruits”. The brand behind the pods said: “Bold All-in-1 pods have a unique three-chamber design that comes with brilliant cleaning even in a cold wash as well as built-in fabric softener.” The reason that there is no fabric softener in Fairy’s Non-Bio Pods is because fabric softeners can cause all types of allergic reactions from our skin. Everyone has very different skin and some skin types are more sensitive and may have an intense reaction to fabric softener. I tested out their laundry detergent in the Orchid Fruit scent and I thoroughly enjoyed this product. Sometimes when I have used a pod detergent in the past, soap scum can build up inside of the machine. Method has always been one of my favourite brands, and I love their cleaning products but I had never tried any of their laundry products. I had also never opted for liquid laundry detergent before and was pleasantly surprised. The Pods have extra cleaning power* but are still gentle on skin. And for that just-washed smell, it’s got to be the all-new Fairy Fresh Fabric Softener. It gives your child’s clothes the Fairy softness you’d expect, but with extra freshness**.Kids love to get messy, which means your washing machine is always on the go. For extra cleaning power AND a just-washed smell with added freshness, Fairy has just the solution … Fairy Non Bio Platinum PODS® and Fairy Fresh Fabric Softener Aesthetically, the bottle is also lovely to look at and its vibrant colour really makes it stand out from other detergents, although the scent was its best selling point. Many of us have our own favourite brand or scent of fabric softener anyway ( see our favourites here) and this can be combined with the Fairy Non-Bio pods for a pleasantly scented wash. Bold recommends pairing this detergent pod with a Lenor Fabric Conditioner as well as Lenor Scent Boosters all in a matching scent. The answer to this question is that no, Fairy Non-Bio Pods do not contain any fabric softener at all, but there’s a very good reason behind this decision!

These pods don’t contain any of the biological enzymes that make up many other detergents. Instead, they are made without any harsh chemicals and are much less likely to cause irritation. When you’ve got kids, you need laundry products that mean business. From grass to pen (and lots of mud!), there’s a lot of stains that need shifting.

The in-wash scent boosters had luxurious scents of almond milk and manuka honey and ensures clothes stay fresh for up to 12 weeks in storage. I also tried the Fairy Outdoorable fabric softener which is designed to give you the freshness of drying outside even when drying clothing inside. The brand said: “Our powerful formula features plant-based active ingredients to help your clothes last longer. They fight against tough stains and revive colours and brightness. Unlike washing powers or liquid, Fairy Non Bio pods washing capsules laundry detergent have a unique multi-compartment design to ensure that each ingredient is released into the wash at the right time.”

You can also use Method’s detergents as a “pre-treat” on clothing before it goes in the machine. The brand said: “Rub a little detergent onto an irksome stain. Wait five minutes and wash as usual.”I’ve always been drawn to Fairy as a brand because they are suitable for sensitive skin. The brand behind these pods said: “Fairy Non Bio pods gently clean and wrap your family’s delicate skin in huggable softness. Dermatologically accredited, the Fairy Non Bio range has been awarded the Skin Health Alliance seal. In a poll of 95 Netmums members, 98% said they'd recommend Fairy Non Bio Platinum PODS® and Fairy Fresh Fabric Softener to friends and family. What I loved about this product was that there are refill stations all over the country, meaning you never have to throw the plastic bottles away. Refills are available in detergents, soaps, cleaners and washing up liquids. Similar to Fairy, these pods also come in a cardboard box, containing a maximum of five percent plastic. I also used these pods on a 30C wash and they worked really well, removing stains and reducing energy usage. The brand behind this product said it has five naturally derived powerful enzymes to wrangle dirt and to clean stains away. It also had 98 percent biodegradable ingredients and Method is certified cruelty free.
