I’m being honest when I say I don’t think I’ve ever been so angry at a book before (or if I was I can’t remember). I just cannot for the life of me understand why this man could not COMMUNICATE!! She’s about to tell you she loves you or that she could and she wants to have your child. And instead of telling her ‘i really love you regardless of the will’ you make her think you’re going to impregnate her stepsister and she can’t divorce you. I’m honestly flabbergasted. When she is not writing her novels she can usually be found spending time with Doc G her husband and their wild golden retriever Gray Gray. She has been known to drink too much coffee and eat a lot of candy.

What got me to stop reading was ‘the betrayal’. I’m going to be completely honest-this part made me so angry. It does not matter that she may have to sleep with the man a lot to get him to loosen up. Soon enough the brash and overly practical billionaire realizes that he can also be thoughtful and caring and before long he is the one spoiling her.They have formed a strong friendship and have beaten tougher odds before. But neither of them can forget that kiss as they barrel toward either disaster or love. They both fight it for their own reasons though. And let me tell ya I’ve never been so mad/heartbroken before about a third act… that’s all I’m gonna say about that. 😅 Welcome to Shh... In the present day, a lot of the first 35% or so of the book was really sad because we get both POVs and can see that they are both clearly still in love with the other but not wanting to admit it since they are both hurt over the past. Instead of being honest with each other, they choose to try and prove how much they are over the other person by talking about the other people they’ve slept with, and in Lilah's case, the dates she was planning to go on. There was a lot of internal dialogue in Lilah's chapters about her miscarriage and subsequent depression, and about how she felt like she wasn't good enough for Dante, and about how her they couldn't make a baby together (essentially assuming that one miscarriage meant she'd never be able to have a healthy pregnancy with him), and honestly it all felt very over the top to me. I don't want to downplay the impact that a miscarriage can have on someone, but to be 18 years old and miscarry an unplanned pregnancy and then let it be still impacting your relationships with everyone around you more than 5 years later even though she's been in therapy all that time seemed unrealistic to me. I honestly felt like at the end, it wrapped up a little fast, the resolution wasn't strong enough and maybe then fmc should've ended up with someone else.

After leaving one night without a word Aubrey built up walls around her heart. Then six years pass. She swears nothing will change and she ain't going down that road again. And he is not shy at ALL in the bedroom 🔥 I was team Jett all the way as he was always honest with her. And for her to allow her past cancer be dropped on his face in a board meeting is so foolish of her, what did she expect? I totally agree with what he says to her after. 2 things especially;I absolutely couldn't put this book down and I desperately needed to see how this story plays out. Can these two souls have there second chance? I couldn’t stop laughing at how declan kept count Every time everly would get out of the car and open the door before he got the chance to open it for her or every time she’d walk away defying him like dammn where do you find him from because I want him 😍😍 What really sealed the deal for me was that he lied to the FMC about various things but when she finally admits to the pregnancy and loss of the baby that she has basically told no one about he gets pissy with her? And she’s sitting there sobbing about this super emotional thing that she’s kept bottled up and has been dealing with all by herself and he starts talking about how he’s “always thinking about how to get people to submit” to him? Yeah… that’s totally the correct way to handle a situation like that… and MOST important of them all, Jett Stonewood will ruin her because she wanted kids marriage and things bright and he was everything but that. Between Commitment and Betrayal, a forced proximity, arranged marriage, sports romance, is the first installment of the Hardy Billionaire Brothers series. Let me begin by saying, there’s no doubt in my mind that this will be someone’s comfort series or favorite book. It just wasn't for me and that's okay.
