About this deal

Roxie is someone who has also experienced imposter syndrome, as do so many others, so reading her story made me feel less alone. There were many sentences that went like this; “whenever you make the energy shift to overcome your test, you will be rewarded with abundance.” The book becomes more problematic in its portrayal of ‘visualisation’ (8%). Science has evidenced that visualising success can ‘work,’ because it brings an alignment of ‘inner’ states, thus making the mind and body work in better harmony. I want to know the ins and outs of something first before I totally make up my mind. Rather than basing my entire opinion on an unrealistic version you see on social media. The word “manifest” is so overly and misused that it didn’t appeal to me at all. I have always seen it as a term people use to attract “material things” they want without any action at all. However this book took you through a step by step guide of some important self development steps such as gratitude, limiting beliefs and self love that allow you to become magnetic to attracting what you deserve.

While reading this book, I was going through a challenging phase of imposter syndrome and comparing myself to others online. Manifest is extremely basic. Roxie doesn’t really share anything new, and although she does clarify that you need to be proactive on your manifesting journey (which I appreciated) I still can’t really get on board with this trend.Bailes un šaubas bieži izliekas par draudzenēm: tās apgalvo, ka sargā tevi no neizbēgamas vilšanās, patiesībā traucējot atklāt visuma pārpilnību." (32.lpp.) But some of the chapters in the book: Cultivate and Practise Self-Love, Embrace Gratitude and Turn Envy into Inspiration, helped me to put my emotions into perspective. Roxie Nafousi, author, speaker, and self-health coach explores the impact of positive thinking, overcoming adversity, and embracing vulnerability for personal growth. Her powerful story of transformation – from addiction and negativity to becoming the ‘Queen of manifesting’– highlights the potential within us all. Roxie's teachings blend science and wisdom, offering a philosophy and self-development practice to reach your goals, cultivate self-love, and manifest your desires. Join Roxie Nafousi on this enlightening path towards empowerment and self-discovery, as she shares actionable insights for a life of manifestation and self-transformation.”

Roxie Nafousi] breaks down how to use the power of your mind to change your everyday reality and debunks common misconceptions about the practice.”—Today.com So, despite all these comments on the book, I would still give it a three star rating? Well, yes, like I said, this book manages to illustrate how manifesting works in an easy step-by-step plan. Basically, if you strip down this book to just the steps, without all the testimonials, you have got a basic un So if you do end up reading this book, please be aware that even the author’s life is probably unattainable and you really need to be realistic with yourself about what you can achieve.

In the last couple of years, amid a renaissance of astrology, tarot, self-improvement, and journaling, manifesting has returned to the fore. On Tik Tok, #Manifestation has a staggering 24.8 billion views, with people claiming to have visualised all manner of things from life partners to jobs to holidays, houses, pets and even bank balances into existence. But, says Nafousi, this isn’t the intention of the practice. She makes no secret of her irritation at how the practice has been warped by social media messaging that prioritises an ever-materialistic capitalist view. The focus on meditation, mindfulness and the importance of managing your thoughts, makes some good and significant points. These are evidenced ways of improving people’s feelings and attitudes and it is helpful to remind readers of them. Setting out to be a socialite says she wanted to be associated with high profile famous people. She hasn’t changed much from her days of getting with the wealthy artist as she claims, she then got with an actor. She still only associates with influencers or famous people. She wants to be in that world. You can only stay in that world if you also make something out of yourself and have status yourself. So from becoming the nobody girl with no talent she made herself a motivational coach/author, so now she feels she’s part of that clan and feels like she fits in. This is the influencers world. Very hollow, superficial, insecure and chasing fame and money. This is wrong, and its implication is repugnantly unfair when it implies blame for victims. Sometimes the world can be against people, whatever they do, and no matter how hard they try to change their circumstances. This is because the book is wrong. 'Inner' states do not directly cause 'outer' states. So, people cannot be solely responsible for thinking, visualising or manifesting themselves to success. A meeting of science and wisdom, manifesting is a philosophy and a self-development practice to help you reach for your goals, cultivate self-love and live your best life.

A third attempt to justify how ‘inner’ states could cause ‘outer’ outcomes takes the book into its odd semi-religious doctrine of manifestation. Described as ‘a meeting of science and wisdom’ (5%), it is the claim that the universe is an entity, like a person. It ‘responds’ to people (39%) and sometimes ‘tests’ people (51%). Thus, it is the universe which changes people’s ‘inner’ states into ‘outer’ successes, ‘as if by magic’ (2%). So you have to admit, this book, and the manifest expert herself, seem like a pretty big deal right now. A meeting of science and wisdom, manifesting is a philosophy and a self-development practice to help you reach for your goals, cultivate self-love, and live your best life. She provides you with some helpful tips, practical exercises and tools to help combat your limiting beliefs and turn your envy into inspiration. The author is careful to avoid identifying the universe with a ‘god,’ but she does occasionally use the word ‘divine.’ We hear, for example, that ‘Divine timing is the timing of the universe,… of an energetic force greater than ourselves’ (81%).
