That's quite clear in several other Manara originals available in the European Comic Art event, among them the undated Erotic Illustration Originale, the Saggitario cover art from 1989 and Cristoforo Colombo from 1991. All told, there are 12 Milo Manara pieces in this sale, a rare assemblage for such a coveted – and, yes, controversial — artist. The cover of Vogue Italia this month shows the art of Heavy Metal Milo Manara in an interesting and misleading inversion, the magazine went with illustrations rather than photographs and Manara is selected as one of seven artists to be awarded… Besides comics, Manara has produced a great variety of portfolios and illustrations for collections like Glamour Books. He has also done character designs for the animated TV series 'City Hunters'.In 2012 he was interviewed for the documentary 'Sex in the Comics' (2012).
