Moon Over Water: Meditation Made Clear, with Techniques for Beginners and Initiates

Bottle the moon water before the sunlight touches it. You may choose to strain out the herbs and salt or not. Again, this is up to you! Note: you don’t want to water your white down too much because it will drip everywhere and mess your painting up. If you’d like, you can take a moment to meditate with the Moon water before you leave it to rest overnight. Hold your palms over the water and picture the lunar energy moving through the crown of your head, down your spine and arms, through your body, and out of your palms into the water. As you do so, focus on the intention you’re setting, then thank the universe for letting you connect with the cosmos.While I usually use a toothbrush for this step (and you can too), I decided to try a different way this time to splatter my stars. Paint the circle of the moon solid white. Keep that white paint wet because the moon texture will be done with wet on wet blending. Will the duo cross the troubled waters safely? Will they become friends at the end of the ordeal if they get out alive?

Use a POSCA white paint pen for some larger stars. Simply paint some clusters of smaller circles. You can even make some of them blurry by pressing your finger on the dots and smearing them a bit. Then add your water. You can use any source of water here, whether it's from the tap, or from a nearby river. Just a note: Consider what you might want to use your Moon water for in the future, and choose a water that will fit. If you're using it to water your garden, water from a local river will be fine; if you're using it to remove your makeup, you'll want something cleaner! There is no traceable for this one! Place the jar somewhere outside (0r if you don’t have access to the outdoors, on a windowsill) so it can absorb the Moon’s energy. Remember, even if you can’t see the Full Moon, the water will still charge. When I paint the moon, I look more at the photo than my painting. It’s a technique that forces you to paint what you see rather than paint what you think you see.
