There’s no time like the present for a murder mystery dinner party, right? Pour yourself a glass of vino and get started on our wine tasting murder mystery game, or get the flags out for our monarchy and royal family themed kit instead. Prefer something more extravagant? Our masquerade murder mystery is always a crowd-pleaser. Seasonal Games As these decorations are designed for you to print, they can all print A4 size and the colour density has been subtly reduced so they are attractive without guzzling ink. Some decorations have been adapted so that they can also be printed on larger A3 paper for a bolder display. If you want a simpler party, you can provide some props instead of pre-sending invitations and having everyone dress up. When I hosted a kids’ mystery birthday party for my daughter a few years ago, I didn’t want to stress any parents out by asking everyone to have a costume, so we gathered certain clothing items and props to fit each character, like pom poms for a cheerleader and nerd glasses for a school nerd. Then we handed out their character cards and props as they arrived. Character booklets for each character – our unique flexibly scripted booklets are suitable for both beginners and experienced crime-solvers! These neat A5 booklets include the game instructions, round prompt cards, map, accusation sheet and optional interactive whodunnit round in one easy-to-print booklet for each character. View Sample Party Booklet A CD which re-enacts the sounds of the murder, outlines the plot and the author’s solution to the mystery.

A truly formidable campaigner against drink, gambling and saloon women; on a mission to turn the saloon into a children's school. The game includes typical themes such as cattle rustling, rancher wars and that icon of the Western movie: the posse. A: A murder mystery box is similar to a board game. But instead of the typical board to maneuver around, the box contains items necessary to solve a well-crafted murder. This is written as an adult party but many parents will be happy to let teens aged 13+ attend. This is a matter of parental judgment. Note that the two optional characters have no flirtations and so might be ideal roles for teens; Faith is another good role as her character is disapproving rather than flirtatious. The main characters do have relationships but, as there are no explicit details, some teens will be happy to play these parts. (See below.)

Malachai Stout's Family Reunion: A fun, lightly-scripted murder mystery game set at a family reunion gone awry that 6 to 12 players can play. This game includes hosting instructions, a script, character sheets, clues, and the solution. The idea was fun, the characters were unique and funny to play. The way it was written was somewhat confusing especially the clues. But after a few stumbles we figured it out. Probably would be better with an all adult group, it was a little long for the girls at my daughter’s birthday party. They are 10-11. And although this was recommended for teens/adults. I feel like an all adult group would appreciate it more. I was hoping that it would invlove moving about the house to discover clues or something but it was just reading mostly. A lot of printing invloved, can really tell the thought that went into it. The posters were super fun. The girls enjoyed the western theme, we had cowboy hats and lots of old western style guns to play with. Random murderer?: No - we carefully organize clues throughout the game so that only a particular person or persons can be guilty As you assume the role of one of these colorful characters and solve the mystery, you and your seven dinner guests will enjoy hours of suspense and intrigue. It's the American Frontier at a time when there were thousands of saloons catering to thirsty, lonely cowboys. There are references to alcohol, whiskey and (false?) accusations that players were drunk. The interrogation is held inside the Deadstone Saloon.

Affairs are alleged but no explicit details are given. Players may (optionally) spring the odd surprise marriage proposal and may optionally give a Cancan performance (or two), but this is totally optional and the game will play just fine if players do not feel comfortable doing so. For more top escape room games including games to play on a board, in the real-world, virtually or printables, see my posts listed below: Kitty O'Mara – Irish saloon owner who allegedly won her saloon on a game of cards; has convinced the locals to buy shares in the new gold mine. Outfitted in designer gear and terribly important, Paige always has her PA on speed dial and can hold several conversations simultaneously. Incredibly dapper in a glitzy waistcoat and dark trousers, Andy really gets the bets rolling in at the top tables.

Reasons to Host a Party

With all of today’s varied entertainment options, you may ask why someone would throw a mystery party. Why set up an elaborate, pre-staged murder scene when you could instead invite a group of friends over for a simple meal and a movie or go to the theater instead? The answer, of course, is to create a night to remember!
