About this deal

Brushing for the right duration is one thing, but another is to give all your teeth fairly equal attention. Failing to do so can lead to problems. You need to brush the inner, outer and biting surfaces of the teeth. In the hand, the brush feels solid and well built. There are certainly no creaking or groaning sounds from the plastic. There are no gaps or build issues that I’ve seen. It stands upright on a countertop and strategically placed nodules on the rear of the handle help prevent it rolling when laid flat. Built-in pressure sensor automatically detects pressure you apply, warns you, and reduces the toothbrush vibrations automatically to help protect your gums. The toothbrush will make a pulsing sound as a reminder to ease off the pressure.

It has five brushing modes (clean, white, sensitive, gum care and deep clean), but is only supplied with a single brush head. This clever system is otherwise known as BrushSync technology. Our guide to BrushSync explains the things you need to know. A new style of charging stand is included. Compared to previous stands with a 2 pin power adapter, this has a USB type A male connector. The cable is hardwired into it and measures 43 inches (110cm) long. The footprint of the stand is smaller too with a more rounded shape. is the very fair retail price for the 3100 Series. This is one of the few brushes I would pay retail for. The 3100 also has an EasyStart mode, which gradually increases the brushing intensity over the first 14 sessions to ease you in.There are several ProtectiveClean brushes, but all have similar specifications. Unlike the DiamondClean, toothbrushes in the ProtectiveClean range have a pressure sensor, and will warn you if you're applying too much force when you brush. This is great for anyone who tends to be a bit heavy-handed, and has been warned that they're at risk of damaging their enamel.

I have no complaints about the cleaning results achievable with this brush. They are more than satisfactory. Brush heads are interchangeable – choose the style your prefer Too often products are more complicated than they need to be. Thankfully the 3100 Series isn’t. You can switch between 2 brushing intensities Using them for more than 3 months can result in less effective and more abrasive brushing. This is because the bristles will have worn. The supplied C1 ProResults head should have the chip built in, but might not. Philips has altered the box contents since launch. The motor has been tuned differently and doesn’t have the 62,000 movements of some of Sonicare’s more expensive brushes. If you haven’t used an electric toothbrush before, the 3100 will still feel intense. But, existing electric brush users may notice the difference. The clean isn’t quite as invigorating. Removes up to 3x more plaque - The Sonicare Electric Toothbrush with advanced sonic technology is clinically proven to remove plaque up to 3X better than a manual toothbrush. It removes plaque from your teeth and along the gum line, without being harsh and whilst protecting your gums. Where you get a sizable visible light on many Oral-B brushes, you don’t on the 3100. Technically the BrushSync replacement reminder LED also flashes amber. Given its position and size, it is not the easiest to see. Brushing time and technique are more important than any particular toothbrush. It’s therefore worthwhile familiarizing yourself with how a timer and pacer work to get maximum benefit. The pressure sensor helps to stop you from brushing too hard

One advantage of a limited set of features is that you can keep things really simple. The DailyClean has just the one button to turn it on and off along with a battery indicator, and that’s it. Put some toothpaste on the head, turn it on, brush your teeth and then switch it off. Job done. This difference isn’t a reason to avoid the 3100, but something to be aware of. It still does a perfectly good job of cleaning your teeth. weeks of use is now common for an electric brush. Whilst Philips doesn’t advertise such usage times, premium models achieve this. The DailyClean line is the most affordable range of Sonicare toothbrushes. Whether you choose the DailyClean 1100, 2100, or 3100, you'll get a single brushing mode and a timer to help you spend 30 seconds brushing each quadrant of your month.

The handle vibration pattern changes whilst it detects too much force is being applied. At the same time, the brushing sensation and sound alter. There's also a pressure sensor to warn you if you're pressing too hard with the brush, plus three brushing intensity levels and four modes. The Sonicare electric toothbrush with advanced sonic technology is clinically proven to remove plaque up to 3X better* than a manual toothbrush. It removes plaque from your teeth and along the gum line, without being harsh and whilst protecting your gums. minute SmarTimer and 30-second QuadPacer guide you to brush for the recommended time in all areas of your mouth to ensure a complete clean.Slim, light-weight, and ergonomic design makes the toothbrush easy to hold and use so that you can get an amazing clean without any strain. To be honest, I had the DailyClean’s use of a NiMH battery down as a potential dealbreaker, particularly remembering the old CleanCare+ with its battery that couldn’t hold up for two weeks. Yet the DailyClean Plus went through its stated three weeks worth of brushing, then went on, and on, and on a little more. In fact, it went on for a rather tedious 147 minutes, which should keep you brushing for well over a month. To help with this the 3100 has a pacer built in. At 30 second intervals, the timer pauses the bristle motion. It creates a change in the sound and brushing sensation. This is your cue to move between the 4 sections of the mouth until all have been brushed.
