Large Print Keyboard Demonstration & Explanation Video Please note, we have updated the design of the product since creating this video above. See the product photos above for the updated design

While all keyboards offer the necessary QWERTY layout of keys for everyday typing, sometimes typing isn't your main concern. Gaming keyboards are designed for competitive use and emphasize things office keyboards don't. In this case, the fact that the design hasn’t changed in over a decade is probably a good thing, and spill resistance only enhances the impression of a simple, reliable product. Frills are limited to a calculator hot key, but for basic needs you won’t get much better for just over a tenner. For feel and sound, however, there is a bit more competition. While Cherry MXs are precisely toleranced, they do tend to feel scratchier than the competition. In addition, they have a premium price which can double or triple the cost from other manufacturers. Stem: The stem is the skeleton of the design. This component moves the most and will glide up and down. After reaching a certain distance the stem will actuate the key and register a keystroke. To make them extra secure and stable, you can install film which will reduce the amount rattle and make them feel better as well. We don’t have a guide on this process, so we’ll link you to a super helpful video. This process also requires you to open them up so we’ll show you our guide. From my experience, silents sound much better, but they feel a bit rubbery upon bottoming out. The overall feel is slightly worse, but the sound makes up for it. Deciding if you want this style comes down to what you prefer more: sound or feel. Speed Switches:

Ergonomics is an oft-overlooked aspect of keyboard shopping. Poor ergonomics can lead to fatigue and even injury, so why not consider our favorite ergonomic keyboard, the Cloud Nine ErgoTKL? This keyboard is a pleasure to use whether you're looking to game or just typing through the workday. Its split design means that the keyboard can operate as one whole keyboard or as two separated working parts, placed up to about 8 inches apart. It takes time to adjust to a split layout, especially if you're new to one, but once you're over the hurdle, it's second to none. Who It's For Cherry is best known for its high-quality mechanical key switches that many other keyboard makers use. So it’s no surprise that that quality made its way into its line of keyboards. The Cherry Stream doesn’t reinvent the wheel, nor does it use the company's fabled mechanical switches, but it doesn’t have to. Its low-profile design looks good while still providing a comfortable typing feel, precise scissor-style key switches, and dedicated keys for convenient shortcuts and media controls. These help it stand up against other productivity keyboards at a fraction of the price. Plus, it's also available in a good wireless version. Who It's For Who says a tiny keyboard can’t be esports-ready? The Corsair K70 Pro Mini Wireless may be smaller than your average keyboard, but it comes with tons of customization options. With both Bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless options, gorgeous RGB lighting, and hot-swappable key switches, the Corsair K70 Pro Mini comes equipped to please both casual gamers and pros looking to save desk space. If you prefer an unusual keyboard layout or just want to switch up a key or two, you may want to remap your keyboard. Our guide to keyboard remapping on Windows explains how to go about doing that.Similar to the speeds, we have found low-profiles to not have a noticeable impact on gaming reaction time.

Lifespan: this refers to the number of keystrokes that can be pressed before it deviates from factory conditions. Most will actually last longer than the lifespan, and many prefer the feel of a well-used switch to a brand new one.Compact: These keyboards have all the extra keys, such as the numeric pad, removed, and are designed to be as small and light as possible. In this way, they reduce the space they take up on your desktop and are easier to travel with. The Das Keyboard 6 Professional is a match for office workers who are looking to upgrade to a high-quality, no-nonsense, productivity-focused keyboard. It's a perfect balance between elite productivity keyboards and enthusiast-grade boards that focus on feel and aesthetics. From my experience, they feel like a scratchier, heavier version of a Cherry MX Brown. You’re better off skipping this altogether and opting for a Brown or Clear switch instead. The Corsair K70 Pro Mini Wireless is as portable as keyboards come while still providing standard-size keys and many connection options. If you like to bring your own gaming gear with you wherever you go, the Corsair K70 Pro Mini Wireless is a great choice, as long as you're willing to pay a premium for that. I’ve pretty much plastered you with everything I know about Cherry MX, which took a bit longer than expected. If you’ve read all this, how do you know you trust can me?
