The plot is well written, some characters are very precise and neat. Elizabeth Roffe is protagonist of the novel, after her father's death, she has to take over his position and responsibilities. She proves to be a good leader, and constantly faces problems. Her determination to run the company well leads her to the revealation that her father was murdered and she was also trapped in a death-maze. After the revealation the novel moves faster and un-covers few more interesting facts. Roffe and Sons is a company that specializes in the pharmaceutical industry. When the family patriarch, Sam Roffe, was killed in a climbing accident, his daughter Elizabeth took over the company. Elizabeth Roffe, a bright young woman, believes her father was murdered and that an assassin is hunting her down. I’d give a special nod to Rollins’s for really unleashing the big Kat this time. She was tough, resourceful and can really beat the hell out of a bad guy. She even showed a vengeful streak. She was everything the guys were, yet, “soooo not a guy.” Late in the third act a new character is introduced. Max is a detective who butchers other languages and gets along better with computers than he does human beings. While trying to piece together the truth about Sam Roffe's death, Max stumbles across another series of murders that turn out to be connected to the family. I thought the battle scenes, while not particularly gruesome where very well done, esp Towton. The movement of York’s army through the snow was really brought to life. In his author’s note, Mr. Iggulden says that if the high estimates are to be believed, Towton was even more deadly the first day of the Somme in 1916. In in contrast to the Somme and its machine guns and artillery, all the deaths at Towton were with arrows, swords, axes, billhooks, halberds and other edged weapons – hand to hand combat.

The various relatives of Sam Roffee have been presented very well giving a detailed account of each one’s life separately. The starting chapters are a sneak-peek into the lives of the members of Roffee family. The accounts of their lives are more like a different story through which the reader glides smoothly as they all provide a thrilling and dark side of each oneâ?Ts characters. sigh* I really expected a lot from this book. Especially since it's a Sidney Sheldon book. I am very disappointed, but somehow, I don't feel any regret over it. Roffe and Sons is one of the largest Pharma companies in the world. At its center is Elizabeth Roffe, the daughter of the owner of the company. Despite really enjoying the second book in the series, I think I would enjoy it even more second time round as I think it is a perfect precursor to this, with the way it sets up the characters and the leaves the situation so delicately poised. Whereas sometimes historical fiction can drag in sections or be too obviously leading up to a monstrous battle, there were no dry moments in Bloodline. Much like a Barney Stinson mix-tape, it was all rise. I didn't read it, I inhaled it. Perhaps the only complaint was it wasn't long enough. I would recommend Conn Iggulden write a War and Peace-esque book in terms of length for the finale to the series. I know one guy who won't be complaining.
