About this deal

The machine utilizes a ceramic grinder to grind beans. And, the ceramic grinder is rigid and relatively quiet. Besides, there’s a bypass doser too.

The carafe version is the most expensive version, usually called the “prestige” version, and these machines handle the milk via a carafe, funnily enough ;-). Super automatic espresso machines have been designed with ease of use in mind. After all, having the ability to press a button and have the coffee maker do all the hard work is kind of the point. The first thing all the users love is its cleaning is effortless with the machine. Thanks to its removable parts, you can rinse them without any trouble. The brew portion is also removable, which requires cleaning once a week.

Features and Performance

Gaggia Anima Barista Plus or the Gaggia Anima Deluxe (or possibly the Magenta if there is much more to it than the Anima) Using the Velasca’s menu button you can set coffee temperature in 3 levels, a standby timer which shuts the machine off in times ranging from 15 minutes to 3 hours, water hardness, display contrast and whether you are using a water filter or not. Based on your water hardness and filter use the machine will alert you when it’s time to descale - and you start the descaling cycle from within the menu. The only difference on the Prestige is that ability to control the pre-infusion between on, off and extra. Frothing Always select high quality blends. Blends with Arabica are characterized by a higher acidity and a more aromatic flavor, while blends with more Robusta have a stronger taste.

While the Velasca Prestige might not be able to compete with DeLonghi and Jura in the design department, what’s striking is how well this machine is made. Wait, did I say there was only one true Gaggia home barista espresso machine? I lied ;-). OK, this is still the Classic Pro, but it's the limited edition “Acrobat” version. These are numbered limited edition versions carrying the special acrobat barista artwork. I believe there are a few of these left, and at this discounted price, personally, if I was buying a classic pro, I'd buy the Acrobat version. To get the best results, watch the dedicated video in the HOW TO section and read these suggestions:Depending on the coffee beans you’re using, you’ll need to experiment with grinder settings, water temperature and aroma intensity levels. As a general rule, I’d recommend starting with a fine grind and the highest aroma intensity level for espresso. The integrated milk carafe makes a perfect milk froth, always at the right temperature to make flawless cappuccinos and other milk-based drinks. Moreover, it can be stored in the fridge after using it. While many of the features of the Cadorna prestige are shared with the Cadorna milk, as you'll see above, there are some additional one-touch coffees with the Cadorna prestige. The biggie being the hugely popular flat white, although I have to say I've never had a flat white from any one-touch bean to cup coffee machine that I thought was a true flat white. They're similar, but generally speaking, the milk texture just isn't quite right. Here's a little fun fact for you re Crema. While this now is something largely revered by coffee lovers, that's down to clever marketing – and this beloved foam on the top of espresso we now know as crema was once referred to as “coffee scum” and thought of as potentially a downside to this higher pressure extraction. It differs from the Besana in a few obvious ways. It has a much bigger 1.8L water tank, a bigger bean hopper, it has three strength settings (7g, 9g, 11g), and it has the ability to pull double shots. The professional steam wand is perfect for the ones who want to relive the barista rituals at home. A true professional experience that will give you surprising in-cup results. Moreover, it also dispenses hot water for teas and infusions This is the cappuccinatore version of the Magenta, but unlike some of the cappuccinatore versions this one is a one touch coffee machine exactly as per the prestige carafe version below, the only difference being that the milk is drawn via the pipe from your milk bottle or milk jug, instead of from the carafe.
