About this deal

The Hypervolt Go is meant to fill that niche of portability. If you want something that fits in a small bag and you can travel with, the GO is there to fit that space. While it provides adequate percussive power, it is no substitute for the Hypervolt and Hypervolt Plus.

Like other mini massage guns we’ve reviewed recently, the smaller size does come with some tradeoffs. If you think you’ll be getting the same percussive massage goodness of its elder brethren, you will come away disappointed. A normal massage gun runs at about 20 to 30 pounds with eight to 10 millimeters of movement or amplitude. A more expensive massage gun can go up to 16 millimeters of amplitude and 40 to 50 pounds,” says Hamer, who adds that he recommends using no more than eight to 10 millimeters of amplitude, which is considered moderate.Hyperice includes two separate shapes of head tips in the box with the Hypervolt Go. The attachments are designed for different areas, but together they help cover any soreness you might feel on your body. Switching between the two head attachments couldn’t be easier — all you have to do is twist the head and pull it out of the Hypervolt. It’s a simplified device – we have come to expect this from mini percussion massagers – no bells and whistles. In fact the only thing of note is the ring LED battery indicator on the bottom end of the handle that we’ve come to associate with Hyperice devices. Both units are percussion massagers, meaning that they use rapid, repetitive pressure to work out your muscles and boost circulation. They also both have powerful brushless motors and offer three different speed settings. However, their percussions per minute (PPMs) differ. The Hypervolt Go offers 2,200, 2,750, and 3,200 PPMs. The Mini 2.0 offers 1,750, 2,100, and 2,400 PPMs. Since the higher the PPMs, the more intense the massage, the Hypervolt Go is the more powerful option. Battery Life On a broader level, the Theragun products are also more expensive than the Hypervolt ones and don't hold as long-lasting of a charge. However, Theragun was found to produce a more precise and deeper massage and was also found to offer a more ergonomic experience than its competitors. For a full description of the Theragun offerings, read our product review here. Do doctors recommend massage guns? Just like their main rivals Theragun, Hypervolt chose to keep the percussion range the same for their small massage gun. It’s 2200-3200rpm. With 3 speed gears to cycle through, the speed will shift from 2200 to 2750 and finally to 3200rpm.

Why We Like It: Easy to use, effective, and incredibly portable, the Hypervolt Go 2 will supplement your active lifestyle without weighing you down.

This one offers a slightly different proposition but it’s still a better alternative in our opinion. We tried out one of these routines, the 7-minute ‘All Day Desk Tension’ routine, using both the flat and bullet attachment. A video tutorial talks users through where to place the massage gun and how much pressure to apply. However, it can be difficult to understand just how much pressure is appropriate, and users will have to decide for themselves which speed setting to use. As a former massage gun skeptic, I would say the Hypervolt Go 2 is worth it — especially for regular gym-goers. It’s a surprisingly powerful device that’s both quiet and convenient, making it an easy addition to any gym bag. Plus, the battery life was pretty great — it lasted all week on a single charge, even with daily usage — so I didn’t need to worry about keeping the charger nearby. Notably, we found that the Hypervolt Go 2 didn’t lose its pressure as the battery life waned. It stayed strong throughout the testing process, and because the attachments are easy to change, the overall process of giving yourself a massage is pretty darn effortless. However, the model does only come with two heads. So if versatility is a major priority, consider opting for a massage gun with more attachments.

When it came to the initial versions, the original Hypervolt Go had Theragun beat, granted the first generation Theragun Mini only came with one attachment head. With the Mini 2.0, however, you get three foam attachments for a more personalized experience (a dampener, a standard ball, and a thumb) as opposed to the Hypervolt Go 2’s two interchangeable attachments (a flat head and bullet head). Smart Guidance With An App Most mini guns don’t boast a long amplitude and the Hypervolt Go doesn’t defy this either. But it just may have an edge over most devices.

One reviewer wrote: “This is a very good quality massager. It was recommended by my massage therapist because of my very knotty muscles. So far, I'm impressed with everything about this little gadget and my muscles are already feeling better after a week. You won't be disappointed!”
