El éxito de la Polaroid 1000 radicaba en su concepto: la alternativa por entonces de Polaroid era la SX-70, una cámara de prestaciones profesionales y orientada por tanto al público profesional. Improvements in SX-70 film led to the higher speed 600 series film, then to different formats such as 500 series (captiva), and spectra. The Land Camera 1000 is a foreign-markets version of the original Onestep model, with the features common to that range: The Land Camera is a model of self-developing film camera manufactured by Polaroid between 1948 and 1983. It is named after the inventor, American scientist Edwin Land, who developed a process for self-developing photography between 1943 and 1947. [1] After Edwin Land's retirement from Polaroid in 1982, the name 'Land' was dropped from the camera name. [2] The first commercially available model was the Model 95, [3] which produced sepia-colored prints in about 1 minute. [4] It was first sold to the public on November 26, 1948. [5] Film [ edit ] A Polaroid SX-70 camera, manufactured between 1972 and 1981For the last photos I kept the exposure wheel on the darkest setting, and this resulted in more or less properly exposed photos. However, the seventh photo was taken at the end of the day, when the light was getting dimmer already. This resulted in a longer exposure time and therefore an un-sharp photo. MiNT Camera modified SX-70's into their SLR670's (it uses 600 film natively without needing to add a neutral-density filter). New features include the Time Machine add-on (manual shutter speed from 1/2000s to 1s as well as bulb mode) for the SLR670-S and the SLR670-X, 600 film (ISO 640) compatibility under the "Auto 600" mode. The SLR670 allows for additional shutter/brightness control. MiNT also produces flash bars and filter lenses intended for the SX-70. [12] Alongside the 'prosumer' range of folding SLRs, Polaroid released a large number of plastic bodied, non-folding consumer cameras that used the SX-70 integral film. There were several lines that varied in the type and amount of features they offered, but fall into three distinct categories differentiated by the method of focusing:SX-70 cameras operate slightly differently from other Polaroid instant cameras, so they need their own film. The biggest difference is the ASA – SX-70 film is roughly ¼ the sensitivity of 600 film, so it needs a lot more light to get a good photo. All folding-type cameras (except the 680/690 SLR models) use SX-70 film.

Manipulation of the photograph is best done about two minutes after the picture has fully developed. It will stay soft and workable for about 5–15 minutes. Some colors will be more difficult to work on (dark green), whereas others are workable for a long time (red). If the photograph is on a warm surface or slightly warmed in an oven, image manipulation is made easier. Just below the exposure control is the electric eye. There’s nothing you need to do with this when using the camera except to make sure your finger is not covering it.Features common to the series of OneStep non-folding, fixed-focus SX70-series integral film cameras are: The 500, 600, and Spectra/Image materials do not use a gelatin-based emulsion, and cannot be manipulated this way. The Land Camera 1000 is a foreign-markets version of the original Onestep model, meaning it has a fixed focus plastic lens. The model 1000 or original OneStep models are distinguished among the range in that they were made available with 2 different coloured shutter buttons - either green or red; there is some debate among collectors as to which was more common. A matching electronic flash was also released for the Onestep/1000 model, known as the Q-Light. It fits onto any SX-70 non-folding camera model, but was cosmetically matched to the original models. This is really fantastic when you’re wanting that perfectly centered image. This is also super helpful if you’re trying to do experimental things with your images, like adding prisms or other accessories in front of the lens for creative effects like what Julia Beyer has shown us in this SIWF article. The Land Camera 1000 is an instant camera manufactured by Polaroid Corporation. In the United States, it was marketed as the OneStep. Based on the Polaroid SX-70, the camera includes a one element plastic lens, fixed focus and an exposure compensation dial knob. It uses the SX-70 time zero film, now manufactured by Polaroid Originals. There is a flash made explicitly for this model: the Q-light flash. They had two unique shutter colours: red and green.
