From 30 September 2013, motor vehicles manufactured before 1960 will be exempted from an MOT requirement, although they can still be submitted for a test voluntarily. Owners are still legally required to ensure their vehicle is safe and roadworthy. In Japan, new drivers must display a Shoshinsha mark ( 初心者マーク) (or Wakaba mark ( 若葉マーク)) on the front and rear of their vehicle for their first year, although drivers who consider themselves to be beginners are allowed to continue to display the mark after the year has passed. Although not related to driving experience, the Koreisha mark ( 高齢者マーク) is optional for drivers 70 years old or over and mandatory for 75 years or more. It would theoretically be possible to simultaneously display both a shoshinsha mark and a koreisha mark, for example if a 70-year-old were to be newly licensed. The probationary period and penalty point rules also apply if you exchange a foreign driving licence for a Northern Ireland licence and then pass a further driving test in Northern Ireland. Within 14 days of a camera recording an alleged speeding or red light running offence, a Notice of Intended Prosecution will be issued to the registered keeper of the vehicle. This notice will contain: For each DVA licensing local office [14] (administrative county before 1974) the two-letter sequences are shown first, followed by the reversed two-letter sequences, then the three-letter sequences.

Northern Ireland has no toll roads, but they do exist in the Republic of Ireland. Toll roads cut travel time significantly when compared to country roads. You will stop at toll booths to pay when entering toll roads in Ireland, with the important exception of the M50 around Dublin, which uses the eFlow Barrier System. This is the system used when travelling from the North to Dublin Airport, there are no physical toll booths. Your car’s license plate will be photographed, and you must remember to pay the toll onlineor at a designated kiosk before 8 p.m. the next day.
