About this deal

Overall, romance is A++. Chemistry is A++. Story is A+++. Answering questions that you'll have readers asking? C.

So at the beginning of the book, the descriptive aspect of the story is good. But halfway through the story it feels like they aren’t pulling you into the story, just telling what’s going on. Then at the end this happened and then another kind of story happened. The plot was not compelling, the FMC had nothing going on in her life apart from the MMC; all of her internal monologue is mostly about him, nothing else. Literally, nothing.

Savage Prince actually had a fairly interesting plot, but this book just didn't deliver it to its fullest potential, unfortunately. It was both very rushed but also far too long in it's delivery. Perhaps if at least 5 spicy scenes were cut and plot was actually written, it would have felt worth it. They do not love eachother. Maybe with the idea of eachother from before (would’ve loved insight on that) but they literally just use eachother as sexual vices. Premise had potential but wasn’t executed well. The book was 95% smut. Willlow seems like a much more intriguing heroine than Rose (dumb girl) Honestly, I would’ve liked this more had there not been these plot holes that were impossible to ignore. With my mother’s medical bills piling up and no other way to pay for her care, I did a stupid thing. I borrowed money from a ruthless criminal whose name I don’t even know. I know he only wants me for the mafia empire I inherited from my first husband. I know our marriage will be a lie.

Tropes - arranged marriage, mafia, second chance, friends to enemies to lovers, dark(ish), forced proximity, possessive MMC, erotica He’s acc a hypocrite. He has a problem with Dimitri ‘breaking’ Willow but wants to do the same with Rose?? Stfu For two characters who seemingly hate one another, it sure did not seem like it. I would have liked more development on this angst but they both just dropped their issues with one another after they saw each other naked. He did a shitty thing to her (no matter how the author justified it), and he hated her family for a murder. Also Rose never even questioned Aidan why his family hated her father/her family so much? Wouldn't this be the first thing you do when the man you're being forced to marry suddenly has a soft spot for you? Idk, I'd like to know.

Cast

The whole thing with Aidens dad was so obviously a setup. Not really a plot hole but like…these are big bad mafia men. They should’ve known. This book had a lot of potential. There was so much that could’ve been that didn’t happen like I wouldn’t have been so complacent about the whole marriage situation and fought against it. But Rose just went along instead of showing real anger and she didn’t ask at all why Aiden was doing this and why he hurt her in the past before getting into the marriage. As the daughter of a ruthless mafia don, I’ve been treated as a pawn all my life. So when the man my father married me off to is killed, I see a chance for freedom, and I take it.

This awful thing that Aiden did to Rose when they were in HS, is eventually explained and yay he’s a hero, but he easily could’ve repaired their relationship after the fact? Why not just tell her why he did it? Why not eventually go after her? He claims to have loved her but like…why didn’t he try to fix it? He says he was a stupid kid and that reeks of a cop out. Savage Prince is a modern masterpiece, a powerful novel that can be read on its own. This novel is written by Sophie Winters. She is a true storyteller, and Savage Prince is her best book. It is an epic tale of family, secrets, loss, marriage, betrayal, friendships, laughter, and regrets. Savage Prince is a heartfelt novel written with compassion and hope, reconciling the past to pave a road to happiness and second chances. The characters in this novel bring life and heart to this story, each with a distinct voice and personality. They made readers love them, they made readers sad, they made readers angry, they made readers laugh, they made readers cry, and they made readers believe in the promise of love and home. I listened to it on audio during a road trip and despite figuring out who the bad guy was and having an inkling of what he'd done pretty much from the second he was introduced, I still really enjoyed it. The only thing I'm still confused about is why Aidan felt the need to stay away from her after hanging up the sheet. I should be afraid of him… and yet, as I infiltrate his strip club to try to get close to him, I can’t help the way his dominating presence makes my heart beat faster. Everything with Willow was nauseating. These men all just threw her under the bus and didn’t give it a second thought. They knew Dmitri would likely kill her for divulging what she did, and yet did or said nothing. The MMC had some stuff going on, mostly mafia stuff but I would even call this book mafia, I would say that it's more organised crime than anything. Aiden O’Reilly is a monster in a tailored suit. A beautiful villain who ruthlessly crushes his enemies. And my father made the mistake of crossing him.

I genuinely felt bad for Willow and I wish they did more to help her or take her in once she told them the truth but they left her to it and I wasn’t expecting that, especially from Rose. The FMC was literally only concerned with the MMC. The MMC had other things going on in his life like the mafia and his brothers and his mom, but the FMC was barely concerned about her father or a job or anything. All her inner monologue was about him. Seducing him is supposed to be a ruse, a chance to get close enough to take him out, but the moment our lips meet, I realize a terrifying truth. I am, what some might call, a ✨smut enthusiast✨ but I can't even vouch for this book. If I had gone into this knowing it was just erotica, I would have had different expectations and this rating probably would've been higher. But even though I have to wear his ring and share his bed, I vow not to let myself fall for him again. It is an extraordinary piece of work, a perfect balancing act with terror on one side and love on the other. This exceptionally well-written novel is all about suspense, thrill, and drama, including the relationships between generations and what happens between long-standing friends. The characters are sensitively portrayed, as is their recovery, and the hopeful ending is realistic. Readers of domestic dramas will be enthralled. For those who love gritty, somewhat nasty mysteries with weird, and exotic settings in one of the world’s most famous cities, this thriller mystery will satisfy you. It is perfect for a long plane trip or a rainy weekend. Savage Prince by Sophie Winters PDF/ePub Details The only problem is, Lachlan won’t be an easy mark. He’s a king of ice, ruling his mafia syndicate from atop a throne of blood. so is there a limit to how much spice a book can have without it just being repetitive and boring? yes, yes there is and this book was it. Although the story is set in the present day, our two main characters didn’t just meet. Aiden and Rose have known each other since high school where they became each other’s firsts; first loves, first lovers, first heartbreaks and betrayals. Being that they are both in families heavily involved the mafia, they both understand what’s at stake years later when Rose is forced to marry Aiden. As much as they try to fight the attraction that never went away even after such brutal betrayals, they can’t. But the real question is, is their love strong enough to get to the bottom of the betrayals and allow them to heal before the floor gets ripped from under then with additional threats looming close by?
