This book was well-written with some twists and turns along the way. This was an interesting and fast paced read. This book is written in third person perspective with the main protagonists being Alice Hargraves, Cassie Hargreaves, Norah Richmond and DI Belinda Day. The benefits of third person perspective with multiple protagonists are that it let's you see the bigger picture of what's going on and you get to know more characters more, what they are thinking and what they are doing. It feels like you get to see the whole picture and not miss out in anything.

For me it's not easy to put the plot into words as it's one you really need to experience yourself.Though set in London, England, the miniseries was shot in Budapest, Hungary. She is everywhere, Jen is the wife that her husband’s family like and she is in all their family gathering, always in touch with the husband. It’s like Jen still is his wife, not Natasha. One day when Natasha comes home he couldn’t find her daughter and her husband. She searches everywhere and asks everyone but no one knows anything. And still, there is someone who has to ask, Jen. Can she trust Jen? Does Jen know anything at all? And if she doesn’t so what’s happened to the husband and the baby girl? There are quite a few different characters that are key to the developing plot. There were secrets and hidden pasts attached to each of them. I wanted to like Alice, the ex-wife, but she made some bad choices that led to her being the main suspect and arrested for Norah’s murder. Her secrets from the past gave her the motive to need Norah out of the picture. At the same time I felt sorry for her and wanted to believe in her innocence. I was very impressed with the main detective on the case, DI Belinda Day. She was actually my favorite character and is the reason that justice prevailed in the end and the actual killer was caught. I also had a soft spot for Cassie, the teenage daughter of Alice and Mark Hargraves. Even though she had a typical teen attitude and built up angst, it was understandable with the family drama that she was dealing with. The story impacted me in a way where I felt the tension and suspense and was able to imagine what the characters were feeling, good and bad. I loved the way Jess used the present story of “Anna” on the run to counterbalance where we were at in the main story. We know SOMETHING happened that led to a life on the run, but getting there is the fun part.I will be reading more from Jess Ryder, and I hope other readers find her book as captivating as I did!

I enjoy the odd Psychological Thiller as you tend to know what you are getting, so yeah you may have to suspend disbelief at some of story but I expect that with Psychological thrillers (to an extent) and this book works really well as the plot and the characters are clever and I enjoyed the suspense.
