Description

Folic Acid is a member of the Folate family: it’s used to produce the important genetic material of the egg and the sperm in the three months prior to conception. Many women, however, are not able to absorb standard synthetic Folic Acid – which is why we use Food-Grown Folate. Think of it as a more “active” form of Folic Acid, which provides enhanced support, and which the body absorbs more easily than synthetically-generated forms. Folic Acid is only recommended for the first 12 weeks; however, our Food-Grown Pregnancy contains the required 400ug of Folate and is beneficial and safe to supplement throughout your entire pregnancy. It is also good to take a quality supplement, preferably in a Food-Grown form to be sure that they are getting enough for their health and for their baby’s optimum development. Sahakian, V et al (1991) ‘Vitamin B6 is effective therapy for nausea and vomiting of pregnancy: a randomised, double-blind placebo-controlled study’ Obstetrics and Gynaecology 78(1) pp33-36 Wild Nutrition Food-Grown Fertility for Women is uniquely formulated to support preconception and preparation of pregnancy. Wild Nutrition supports fertility and includes folic acid and vitamin b6.

Taking probiotics during pregnancy can increase your immune strength, as well as that of your baby: we recommended our Multi Strain Biotic, which contains eight different strains of bacteria to support your natural gut flora. After all, 70 per cent of our immune system resides in the gut tissue, and the bacteria that resides there has a very powerful influence on your health and that of your developing baby. Our Food-Grown Immune Support and Food-Grown Vitamin C & Bioflavonoids may also support your natural resilience, while our Food-Grown Vitamin D offers protection in all seasons. (Our Food-Grown Pregnancy contains the officially recommended 10ug of Vitamin D; however, some women will need additional supplementation, especially in the darker months).Laurence, K et al (1981) ‘Double-blind randomised controlled trial of folate treatment before conception to prevent recurrence of neural tube defects’ British Medical Journal 282 pp1509-1551 Cautionary advice: This product contains iron which, if taken in excess, may be harmful to very young children. We advise taking your supplements a minimum of 2 hours after taking any medication. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not take if seal is broken.

Extra antioxidants will nourish stretched skin and help damaged tissues to recover from any tearing or from a caesarean. Iron can replenish stores after blood loss and calcium and magnesium will replace that used up during muscle contractions. B vitamins help you to stay calm and relaxed; they may be depleted from the high energy expenditure of birth and from any stress. Zinc, vitamin D and essential fatty acids are all protective against postnatal depression. billion colony forming units are provided by this unique formula. That’s a 30 billion live bacteria per each daily serving of one capsule. If supplement, vitamin A must be in the form of beta-carotene as retinol can be toxic to your baby. For this reason, avoid eating liver that can be high in retinol. Zinc, B vitamins, iodine and essential fatty acids remain important throughout pregnancy. Cautionary advice: If you are taking medication or under medical supervision, consult your doctor before taking any food supplement. We advise taking your supplements a minimum of 2 hours after taking any medication. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not take if seal broken.

Zinc, Vitamin B6 and essential fatty acids are important to make sex hormones. Zinc, found in oysters, lamb, nuts, seeds, eggs and oats, is also vital for the development of healthy sperm and eggs. Rice, R (1996) ‘Fish and Healthy Pregnancy: more than just a red herring’ Professional Care of Mother and Baby 6(6) pp171-173 To supplement this the Food-Grown way, you might want to try Omega 3. Raw nuts, seeds and cold pressed oils are rich in omega 6 fats and can be eaten every day.

They are also free from the aggressive doses of synthetic or isolated ingredients often found in traditional, compressed powder tablets, which often pass through the body, unable to be used. Not only are Food-Grown® nutrients better absorbed by the body, they’re kinder to the digestive system too. Better Used Breast milk contains essential fatty acids, so it is important to replenish these in your diet if you are breastfeeding your baby. They are needed for healthy hormone balance and to protect against fatigue, allergies and the memory loss and confusion that is often attributed to tiredness after a birth. Breast milk will provide your baby with friendly gut bacteria that will make vitamin K once they have fully populated his digestive system.
