I didn't really feel the chemistry between Aria and Luca. Like, they barely talked. I felt like I didn't actually know them, at least that they didn't know each other.

The characters in this novel bring life and heart to this story, each with a distinct voice and personality. They made reader love them, they made reader sad, they made reader angry, they made reader laugh, they made reader cry, and they made reader believe in the promise of love and home. Maybe I’ll even film it for you.” The only reason that this book did not get 5 stars from me was because it needed some editing/proofing. There were multiple instances of incorrect word usages and/or tenses. It was pretty distracting and sometimes laughable. I think that perhaps this stood out even more because the rest of the story was so well-written and appealing. The characters were well-developed, etc. Aria is terrified of marrying a monster like him. He may be one of the most sought-after bachelors in New York, thanks to his good looks, wealth and predator-like charisma. But Aria knows the bad boy aura isn’t just a game; blood and death lurk beneath Luca’s striking gray eyes and arrogant smile. Okay, I'm again torn how to rate this one. I still think that the one about Aria and Luca was probably the best one. This one was slightly better than the one about Valentina and Dante but still... Not really sure how to rate it.Aria Scuderi always knew she might never marry for love. But she never expects to be forced to marry Luca Vitello, a mob boss from NYC. Being forced to leave her siblings and family is bad enough, but she's a bit terrified of Luca. Luca is not an easy guy to love. There is one scene in particular where I just wanted to slap him silly, but by the end, he truly won me over. I rooted for Luca and Aria to make this relationship work and I loved watching them fall for each other. I hated everything about Gianna in the glimpses we got of her in the first two stories. She's such an obnoxious, hateful and mouthy bitch to everyone. My biggest pet peeve in stories are unlikable heroines and Gianna fit the bill for that perfectly. AND she was a selfish asshole. I was originally going to skip this story all together because I knew I'd still hate her, and life is too short to read unlikable bitch heroine stories. Sometimes I think you hurt me on purpose to keep me at arms-length. When will you finally move on? Your wife has been dead for four years, it's time you stop pitying yourself and realize that life goes on. When will you stop clinging to the memory of a dead woman and realize there's someone in your life who wants to be with you?" Yeah, it's true that he loved his first wife, but that sad admission at the end explained so much for me!

A slow burn Mafia romance. A book on marriage, dignity, love, understanding, kindness, sacrifice and care. Highly recommended!!! Enjoy!! And this is exactly why I loved this book so much. We're talking about true soulmates here! I loved, loved, loved these two together! Matteo was so patient with Gianna and he had such a great sense of humour. I like men like Matteo, so funny and easygoing (apart from the killing of course). He was as different from Luca as Aria is from Gianna and this is another reason this book worked for me. I loved Luca so much, but I didn't want his brother to be like him. I really liked Matteo's character. He was completely enamoured with Gianna, and wanted her to trust him. Would I recommend it? Probably not...But then again tastes vary.And a lot of people seemed to have rated this a four star....So it's really up to you.Who the hell keeps provoking a mob boss when he's clearly married AND has the power to hurt your sister ?! I really loved Aria. I love her bravery, fierceness, protectiveness and kindness. While most women would have just sit around doing nothing but wasting money, Aria stood up for herself and determined herself to get what she deserves. Her protectiveness over her siblings were adorable. And I love how understanding and gentle she was with Luca. And I loved her even more when she sacrificed herself for Luca. She is one hell of a Mafia Queen. I’ve always liked morally grey characters, but there’s something different about reading this type of archetype within this particular setting, since it almost seems so close to real life. Lines are completely blurred. Their justifications now become your justifications. You weirdly understand their motives and character. Sweetheart, you do realize that you could easily be married off to a man who could be a Potential sadist and could be 20 years older than you right? And in this story Dante and Valentina from the Chicago Outfit are the next couple to enter into an arranged Mafia marriage.. but it’s a second marriage for both of them so there’s ghosts from his past marriage stopping Chicago’s Capo Dante from moving on and secrets from Valentina’s marriage that will eventually come out. Dante fights the attraction, Valentina pushes it with sexy reveals and the push n pull tense refrain relationship will emotionally and sexually strain.. and strain.. and strain. But that’s not all.. because Valentina thinks she knows everything about her deceased husband and his big secrets.. but she couldn’t be more wrong.. and the drama, danger, sexual tension and suspense is both thrilling and climactic.Grace Parker, one of Luca’s old girlfriends/plaything. She’s the daughter of a New York senator who’s on the payroll of the Mafia.
