About this deal

Both of the double bedrooms benefit from having their own en suite shower rooms so there is no queuing required in the mornings. Everything has been laid out all on the one level inside and the ramp that leads up to the front door is handy for anyone in the party with mobility issues. The house is less than 5 minutes’ drive from the start of the walk to one of Skye’s most iconic sights, Neist Point Lighthouse. Standing at 62 feet in height, its impressive flashing white light is so bright (the equivalent of 480,000 candles) that it can be seen from as far as 24 miles away! It takes about half an hour to walk to it and great care must be taken around the cliffs. The views from the lighthouse are breathtaking, with whales and basking sharks to spot, and its westerly position makes it particularly magical at sunset. Technology for the modern workplace Central to your corporate psychological health are individual and organisational psychology and communications.

It is well worthwhile stopping to take in Dunvegan Castle (11 miles) and its 5 acres of wonderful gardens. The castle itself boasts some fascinating architecture with many different styles and buildings that were added over the years. A welcome addition to any visit is to hop onto one of the boat trips that leave from the jetty to see the cute local colony of seals who sun themselves on the loch’s islands.

The ideal drink for those looking to ease themselves into the world of whisky, perhaps not having been able to get on with straight-up single malts in the past, or those just looking for a different way to enjoy a dram after dinner, Scottish whisky liqueurs have been around longer than you might think, with “brose” – a mixture of whisky, honey, oatmeal and, if desired, cream – being produced for centuries. Another liqueur inspired by an ancient recipe, this one from the Highlands, Elgin-based merchant Gordon & MacPhail's Dunkeld Atholl Brose was named the world's best liqueur at the World Whisky Awards in 2012.

Drambuie is the best-known modern iteration, a mainstay of gantries around the globe. A blend of whisky, heather honey, herbs and spices, its name is derived from the Gaelic phrase “an dram buidheach”, meaning "the drink that satisfies". Cover with a row of biscuits, pushing them down so they soak up the syrup, and then turn them over and allow the other side to soak too. Legend has it traditional Atholl Brose was named after the 1st Earl of Atholl, who quashed a Highland rebellion in 1475 by filling the rebel leader's drinking well with the mixture, making him considerably easier to capture than if he had been drinking water. This liqueur forgoes the cream, with the result a delicate, amber-hued blend of single malt whisky, honey and herbs. Take 4 glasses and add a layer of the rhubarb (including any juices), and then a layer of yogurt. Repeat for a larger portion – it’s entirely up to you how large or small you go!

We absolutely loved this cottage in every way. So comfortable and relaxing and everything was such a high standard. Would love to return again soon. The recipe was then given in the late 19th century to James Ross, who ran a hotel on Skye, where he developed the recipe and began selling it to patrons in the 1870s, with the name being registered as a trademark in 1893.
