Cheetor's function among the original Axalon crew was never revealed, but given his tendency to favor speed, and his development of flight capabilities as a Transmetal and after becoming Technorganic, it is possible he was the ship's pilot. Optimus Prime has studied humans for years and comes to the conclusion that he wants nothing more than to become human - carefree, curious, and playful. And a friendship with his fellow "big cat" Tigatron is also helping the spotted speedster learn a little patience.

This tiny, softer-plastic representation of Cheetor is great for the yung'uns. As one of ten toys in the McDonald's Beast Machines Happy Meal promotion, it features an incredibly simplistic transformation with no removable parts. Cheetor had a bit of a rivalry with Wolfang and has been shown growling at him a couple of times whenever he flirts with Foxfire, hinting that he has strong feelings for her. Despite their rivalry, they remained good friends. Far too frequently, Cheetor looked up to Optimus Primal enough to rush out in an all-too-eager attempt to prove himself. He seemed to botch as many missions as he carried out successfully; he broke an experimental communicator, rushed into combat, got himself captured by Tarantulas, The Web and set up remote survey posts in the middle of a lightning storm on a bed of unstable energon crystals because someone stroked his ego. Equal Measures Cheetor is the first character to speak in Beast Wars and the last character to speak in Beast Machines. A tiny plastic Cheetor figurine molded onto an irregularly-shaped stand was released by Kabaya. Part of the first assortment of Beast Machines Megas, Cheetor transforms into a super-lean technorganic cheetah. In keeping with the early Beast Machines design trend of "articulated features", turning the beast-mode head causes its jaw to open and close. His left foreleg has a gear-spring horizontal "swiping" action activated by pushing a section of the above shoulder-armor towards his body. In robot mode, his head has the same feature; turning it left or right opens and closes his Muppet-like jaw. The "swiping"-action arm—now on his right side—is still available in this mode and can be used to swing his tail-whip around. It needs to be noted that because of cheetor's unusual body proportions and very small feet, he has issues standing up properly in this mode, especially with his legs positioned in the proper cat-like digitigrade style. The arrival of "standard-formers" from Cybertron was a major development on Eukaris, and the Four Tribes met with both outsiders and the Fateweaver to understand the ramifications. Cheetor and the tribes met with Chancellor Starscream of Cybertron and Windblade of Caminus when they exited from the spacebridge. Initially reluctant to form relations with Cybertron, whose people persecuted the children of Onyx Prime, Cheetor opened to the idea when he learned that other colony worlds were involved as well. Windblade vol. 2 #6 When Optimus Prime and Megatron used the GroundBridge network to triangulate the Allspark's location, Cheetor manipulated the portals so that only the leaders could enter the cave and introduced himself to the two leaders. When the trial of knowledge proved ineffective, Cheetor instead proposed a trial by combat, granting each contender new spark armor.
