About this deal

After that comes the equalization section which has the typical ‘bass’, ‘middle, and ‘treble’ knobs that you would expect. The eq has a great range, and is very responsive.

New Pedal FX section makes it easier to set up foot-controlled wah and pedal bend effects in BOSS Tone StudioFeaturing five different amp characters for a variety of genres, players can cycle through a range of different tones from twinkling cleans, to all-out distortion, and everything in between. It's built from Boss's neat Tube Logic technology, offering authentic tube sound and feel. And, with the inclusion of a power switch, you can crank your tube sound without bringing the house down. Decorate your sound with five preset effects, including boost, reverb, and delay, and customise them with over 60 effect types in Boss's Tone Studio. Because the MKII isn't just built to perform. It's built to inspire. The Katana 50 is what we’ve been focusing on until now, but the other models are just as noteworthy.

Read more… KATANA Amplifier BOSS Katana Amplifier Series Unlike a traditional valve amp, the Katana-50 MkII EX lets you find the sweet spot without upsetting your bandmates or neighbours. Using the variable Power Control, you can experience that magical cranked-amp tone wherever you play, from the stage to the studio to the bedroom. More Than An Amp The Katana 50 can switch from 0.5 watts, to 25 and 50 watts allowing you to play at any volume. All the other models have 100 watts, which can attenuate to 50 or 0.5 watts for lower volume. At the core of the Katana-50 MkII EX are its 5 primary amp characters - Acoustic, Clean, Crunch, Lead and Brown. Each character features a selectable variation for a total of 10 amp voices. From big, bold and dynamic US cleans to articulate UK crunch to brutal high-gain tones, the Katana-50 MkII can deliver it all and more. Acoustic guitarists are also covered, thanks to a dedicated voice that’s optimised for electro-acoustic guitar. Premium BOSS Effects Please note that this extended warranty is currently only available on products sold within the UK, EU or EEA, and is subject to the terms and conditions as detailed on the extended warranty certificate provided. The Boss Katana 50 MkII EX expands on the capabilities of the best-selling Katana 50 MkII guitar amp combo, providing more performance versatility in the same portable design. GA-FC and GA-FC EX support allows you to select Tone Setting memories, turn effects on/off, and even more with Boss' dedicated foot controllers. There's also a handy line output for sending mix-ready tone straight to a house PA, plus the ability to link a second Katana MkII amp with the Stereo Expand feature — for three-dimensional, immersive sonics! I've been guitaring 40+ years. I've played mostly acoustics during that time, but started on and have always had electrics. I bought the 50 Mk II in hopes of having a versatile, portable, and good sounding amp. The acoustic setting was also an important feature. I've had my Katana for a couple weeks now and am very pleased. My Taylor AE sounds very good through this amp and the ability to add effects such as reverb and delay is nice. It's much lighter than my Fishman Artist - the two would make a nice pair for small acoustic/vocal venues. Controls - Amp Type x 5 + Variation, Gain, Volume, Bass, Middle, Treble, Booster / Mod, FX / Delay, Reverb, Tone Setting : CH1 / CH2 / Panel, Master, Power Control, Power Switch. And we're still not done. In this second incarnation of the Katana, Boss have added two variants for each amp character. So players now have 10 amp tones to experiment with, unearthing even more sonic possibilities for your sound. And, with 4 integrated memory slots, you can save your sculpted tones and access them whenever you need to with the touch of a button. It's this extensive versatility that makes the Katana MKII Boss's most functional amp to date, and why players now have the power to truly explore their creativity to its fullest. Let your creativity flourish BOSS Tone Studio software for customizing your sound with over 60 different BOSS effects, channel and global EQs, adjustable routing, and much more

Choose from a huge selection of customizable effects and effect routing configurations with the BOSS Tone Studio editor software The EQ is a little more important here, as it’s easy to get it to sound fizzy with too much of anything. The Katana Head is the same as the 100, but in head form. This allows you to hook the Head to your preferred cabinet. This way you can get the Katana’s sound running through different speakers or more speakers at a time. The Head also includes a tiny speaker that can be used for practice, so you can leave your cab at the rehearsal space while still being able to practice at home, for instance. The power output of the Katana 50 can be changed to four different settings; standby, 0.5 of a watt, 25w or 50w. Having different power outputs means you can still experience the tone, and more importantly, the “feel” of a dimed amp at a reasonable volume.

Tech Specs

Standby means the Katana amp is powered on, though the onboard speaker is disabled. This is the perfect setting for late-night recording/ practice sessions. 0.5w is perfect for when you are playing at low volume and still require the tone of a pushed guitar amp. 25w is ideal for quiet rehearsals and jamming with other musicians, whereas 50w will enable you to compete with a drummer and use it in live situations.
