About this deal

As their name suggests, the red-handed tamarin displays vibrant reddish-orange fur on its hands and feet. These small New World monkeys, native to the tropical forests of South America, rely on their bright coloration to communicate within their social groups and establish their presence in their intricate canopy habitats. 10. Red River Hog Very occasionally white foxes are reported from the wild; both albino and non-albino animals have been documented. In their Mammals of the Soviet Union, Vladimir Heptner and Nikolai Naoumov noted that white (or “de-pigmented” as Heptner and Naoumov called them) foxes are rare and that such animals most often appeared in the southern forest zone of the region. Interestingly, Heptner and Naoumov also mentioned that albinism usually develops in foxes after years of insufficient food, although it's difficult to see why this should be so, given the genetic basis for the condition. The pink nose and ears (and eyes in another of the three photos taken) are well-recognised signs of albinism, but not all white foxes are albinos. - Credit: Karen Hawton / Devon Biodiversity Records Centre For people ready to take the plunge, these little dogs are among the healthiest breeds out there, and regularly keep on going into their mid-teens. Poodle It takes several hours of exercise a day to wear out a Kelpie, and like other herding breeds, you might find they spend a good part of that trying to round up other dogs, animals, and small children. Definitely not for the faint hearted! Where Does Red Fur Come From? Labs have double coats, and shed frequently. So be prepared to groom them, especially during the winter and summer when they blow their coats. This means their beautiful red coats will end up on your furniture and in your home, especially twice a year during shedding season.

Redbones need to be let outside to play in a very well-secured yard, as they shouldn’t be allowed to roam freely. This is due to their genetic tendencies to chase after small animals and interesting scents. Instead, keep their interest by playing games with them, like fetch and tug-o-war. Toys are instrumental in keeping this breed well behaved, too. What is more probable is that there is a definite strain of albinism extant in this neighbourhood, which keeps on breaking out from time to time. A dog fox of some sort, not by any means necessarily white, may have covered more than one vixen during a season to produce these scattered white litters.” Their highly potent toxin, which is obtained from ingesting mites and ants, can cause convulsions and even death for any creature that tries to prey upon it. Bright skin is a warning to avoid them entirely before it’s too late. The color pattern also plays an important role in the reproductive season. Females will often select mates with the same color pattern as their own. There’s a lot more that goes into owning a dog than just coat color, after all, so it’s good to do your research beforehand. Genetics play a role in coat color, just like they do in the personality traits of every dog breed. Each of our favorite red-coated dogs offers something different to a potential dog owner, so it’s good to know what to expect! Yes, unfortunately, some animals with red fur, such as the red wolf, are critically endangered. Habitat loss, human activities, and other factors pose significant threats to their survival. 4. Can red fur change color over time? The orangutan, an arboreal primate found in the rainforests of Southeast Asia, possesses a striking reddish-brown coat. This coloration can be influenced by their diet, as orangutans primarily consume fruits, leaves, and bark, which may contain pigments that impart a reddish tinge to their fur. 2. Red Fox

Australian Shepherds need a lot of structure to maintain their happiness. They are very highly active and will sometimes need upwards of 90 minutes of exercise per day to be satisfied. There are plenty of things that they can do, not limited to running, swimming, and herding. Small and robust, Shiba Inus are dignified little dogs who need surprisingly little grooming, despite their dense fluffy coats. If you think a Shiba Inu might be the red dog for you, look for a breeder who can provide clear hip, knee and eye evaluations for both sire and dam. Large Red Dog Breeds These pups are very active, and should only be placed with an active family. They have longer, furry and fluffy red coats that distinguish them from many other breeds. These adorably fluffy canines make great family pets, and get a long well with families and are great in multi-pet households. Being a hound, Redbone Coonhounds are known to have a distinct “houndy” odor. This can be kept under control with regular bathing. Shedding isn’t too much of a problem for this breed, though you will still need to brush them at least once a week. This helps them look fantastic and keeps them free of dead hairs and debris.Although cheetahs are typically known for their sleek, spotted coats, there exists a rare color morph known as the red cheetah. These individuals exhibit reddish-brown fur adorned with pale spots, creating a unique and eye-catching appearance. This distinct color variation sets them apart from their more commonly recognized spotted counterparts. 9. Red-handed Tamarin Found in parts of Africa, the red colobus monkey boasts a predominantly red or reddish-brown coat, highlighting its uniqueness among other primate species. Their striking appearance is a testament to the incredible biodiversity found within the continent’s forests, and these primates play a crucial role in the ecosystem as seed dispersers. 12. Red-bellied Lemur Being protective of their family, this breed can make a good watchdog as they bark to let you know if someone new is around. However, Irish Setters are prone to separation anxiety if left alone for too long, so always allow them to spend time with someone if you aren’t there with them.
