About this deal

However, should you be like yours truly and prefer a suitable shortcut, the Breville Precision Brewer also offers up a series of presets for Golden Cup-standard coffee, exceptional cold brew, and iced coffee that's anything but weak and watered-down. The Sage Precision comes with two filter baskets that allow you to perfect your brew. One filter basket is a flat-bottom basket, which is ideal for emphasising floral, chocolate, dried fruit, and sweeter flavours. The other is a semi-conical filter basket that is better at emphasising citrus, berry, and full-bodied notes. Six programmed modes Prepare a cleaning solution using a ratio of one part water and three parts white vinegar. 4. Clean the outside of the machine

If you think of coffee as a science, the Breville Precision Brewer will make the perfect chemistry kit. With the ability to customize everything from bloom time to water flow, it'd be impossible to not eventually stumble upon that winning combination of variables that culminates in your ideal cup of coffee. See the full review of the Sage precision brewer filter coffee machine What else is there to consider? Unlike some coffee makers, the coffee isn’t kept warm on a heated plate. Instead, it is the brushed stainless steel carafe with its dual walls that keeps the coffee warm for you. Using The Sage Precision BrewerIced – This setting is great for those hot summer days where you want coffee but don’t want the heat! This makes a concentrated brew whose taste will work well over ice. You need a special adaptor for this setting, which is sold separately. It seems a little odd not to include the adaptor if the machine has this setting, though. You can do all sorts of things with this filter coffee machine that you simply cannot achieve with others with the main benefit being the personalisation options on the easy to use digital display. Personally, we like to grind our coffee beans right before brewing to retain all the flavour, but if you’d rather wake up to the smell of coffee you’ll be thrilled to know that the Sage Precision Brewer has an Auto-On function. You’ll be able to prepare your grounds and favourite brew settings the night before and program it to wake up before you do.

The My Brew setting allows you to customise any of the parameters for making your coffee. That’s precise control of bloom time, brew temps and flow rate to suit your favourite coffee beans. Be it floral, fruity, or chocolatey. There wasn’t anything we didn’t like particularly. We would have preferred to have a removable water tank, but you soon get used to having a fixed one. It’s also a little big for anyone who has limited counter space. The manual comes with detailed instructions but they’re easy to follow. It is installed with the technology for you to be able to hook up an app operated by BILT to guide you through the process in 3D.

Using The Sage Precision Brewer

Read on to see what we thought in our full Sage Precision Brewer review. First Impressions Of The Sage Precision Brewer You have 4 products at the top end of the market within the Sage range and this where is where domestic coffee machines and professional coffee machines start to cross over. Sage Dual Boiler Pro Coffee Machine Grinding and tamping are very important if you want to produce the best possible coffee. Bean to cup coffee machines do a good job but not as good as using manual intervention in the right way which is why the coffee shops do it that way. Lastly and most importantly for me the digital temperature control or PID (proportional Integral Derivative) is another key difference between the two machines.

Setup involves testing the water's hardness (via an included paper test strip) and flushing the reservoir. Despite following the instructions to a tee, the machine didn't completely flush the water from the tank into the carafe during my setup, leaving about 20-oz of liquid behind. I looked for a possible cause behind this, and even reached out to Breville customer support – but to no avail. (Fortunately, it hasn't happened again.) If this is the level at which your budget stops we would recommend The Bambino Plus over the Duo Temp Pro.

The feature-rich Breville Precision Brewer is for the scientific coffee drinkers out there.

For our taste testing, we brewed a carafe using both filters. The cone-shaped filter should be used when making fewer than eight cups and the flat bottom filter should be used for anything above this.

In a nutshell, a Sage coffee machine will give you the very best chance to create the very best possible coffee that will easily be better than anything you can expect to be served up in a high street coffee shop but there is a caveat. You have to be prepared to put some effort in. The Barista Express is our number one rated home espresso machine from Sage and enjoys a perfect 10/10 rating. They have not been reviewed or recommended because they are variations on other machines in the range but they cost significantly more (hundreds of pounds more) but do not represent any value for money for the extra you pay. You can get the same coffee with one of the other variations but pay hundreds of pounds less. Fast – For when you don’t have time to spare, the ‘Fast’ setting is a great option. You can brew the whole 1.8-litre capacity in a little under seven minutes. This is perfect for times when you’ve got guests and want to serve them fast.

Brew craft filter coffee automatically.

If you’re trying to save money or curb your takeaway coffee habit, investing in a quality coffee machine is a great way to keep your monthly costs down and stop unnecessary spending. Sage is a premium and reliable coffee machine brand that has topped our lists on the best coffee makers, best bean to cup coffee machines and best espresso coffee machines. Fill a container with warm water and add a few drops of white vinegar or other descaling solution as per the manufacturer’s instructions. Although I miss the immediacy of Ninja's 10-minute cold brew, I still anticipated waking up to a 10-hour cold brew with the Breville, although in the future I may elect to expand the brewing process to at least 12 hours for even smoother coffee. Cold Brew – The Cold Brew setting produces a developed, rich flavour. As it’s designed to make cold brew coffee, the programme takes between 4 and 14 hours so you might want to set this up to run overnight.
