About this deal

Come rain or shine, there’s always a good book to match the weather! From sunshine and showers to hailstones and hurricanes, we’ve put together a list of the best children’s books for topics about stories about weather and seasonal changes.

From sprouting seeds to buzzing bees, kids 3-5 will learn the important changes that happen during the season of rebirth. Bright and colorful pictures of busy landscapes full of life are great for keeping the attention of kids ages 5-7. A Spring book for kids with a groundhog, blooming flowers, buzzing bees, bugs, hummingbirds, baby animals, rainbows, and so much more. Co-authors Sean Taylor (picture book author) and Alex Morss (ecologist, journalist, and educator) offer an inviting introduction to the science behind spring. The yard is bright, birds are singing, the bees are buzzing, and there are tadpoles in the pond! What is all the commotion about? Lifting the interactive flaps encourages sensory explorationand helps support the development of fine motor skillsand hand-eye coordinationin developing children. The content-rich text builds vocabulary. Todd Parr never disappoints. Use this cheerful title to mark non-denominational spring days on your class calendar–from International Women’s Day to April Fool’s, Mother’s Day, Earth Day, and Memorial Day. Read it, and then, as Todd says, “Go roll down some hills! Happy spring!” 2. Singing in the Rain by Tim Hopgood (PreK–1) Watch the world transform when spring comes! In a starred review, School Library Journalcalled this delightful picture book “A must-have, joyful seasonal title for the youngest listeners.”A young girl is annoyed at the gloomy March rain until her mother drags her outside to witness a remarkable toad migration across the street to a local pond. It’s based on real events in Philadelphia. We absolutely love that it introduces a new twist on signs of spring for an urban setting. 20. Robins!: How They Grow Up by Eileen Christelow (K–3) Do you use addon-info, addon-notes, addon-contexts, or addon-centered? If so, these have all been deprecated in 6.0. This EYFS Spring book list will give you plenty of opportunities to read seasonal stories with your children, engage them in the excitement of springtime and all the fun associated with this time of year!

Children’s learning is series of progressive course, storytelling and reading story books are the very basic methods that reach their budding brain. And these habits support in long term understanding of everything they hear or read. Our free stories books for kids give them great joy of telling different stories that captivates them in reading books as well. One of my favourite books to have for each of the seasons is the Gerda Muller books. The Spring Book has beautiful illustrations contained within the board book and as it’s a wordless book it provides the perfect opportunity for your and your little ones to create your own stories. Up in the Garden and Down in the Dirt The Rhyming Rabbit by Julia Donaldson is a famous tale about a rabbit who likes to make up rhymes, but sadly not everyone wants to hear what he has to say, until he meets a sheep who also like to rhyme their words! This is a great text to use with EYFS to show them how compassion can make someone happy when they have been made to feel left out. In the Little Homesteader: A Spring Treasury of Recipes, Crafts, and Wisdom, young readers can try their hand at various spring-themed projectsas well as learn interesting seasonal wisdom, and nature-related factsalong the way. Now that you’ve got the basics out of the way, we also recommend you take some time to update your Storybook to the current best practices. None of this is strictly required, but it’s worth taking the time to do it now. Many of these changes will be required in SB7, and we’re actively improving and building upon the latest best practices.Step Four: Using a hole punch, starting about a half-inch away from the top of the paper, make holes about 1.5 to 2 inches apart going down the left side. Make your last hole about a half-inch above the bottom of the paper. With our recommended books for children, you can be sure that you’re providing your child with the best possible resources to learn about the weather and the changing seasons. Whether you’re looking to incorporate science into your curriculum, inspire a love of reading, or simply enjoy some quality storytimes, these books are a perfect fit – whatever the weather!

To select the books to include in this ‘most popular’ spring books list I asked my own children for their favourites.
