About this deal

Oh, the monotonous, mundane rituals and agendas of our lives. School, work, sleep eat, the sluggish schedules and repetitions of yesterday's conversations and redundancy of itineraries we had plotted months prior. Neil Steinberg: Beautiful poem. Again, we repurpose it. He wrote it for a student who had a broken love affair who was considering suicide. It basically says wait a little, things will get better if you wait, if you give it a chance to. That’s an essential skill in recovery. If I really really want to have a drink now, I can either run out and have a drink and begin some sort of slide, or I can realize that all I have to do is wait and the desire will pass and I’ll be okay. That doesn’t sound the most profound thing, but it’s something people forget. Baby my life is full of scars in my brain from smoking shards everyday getting harder everyday trying to barter everyday just to send you messages everyday in any way that I can.

Begin to forget your baggage, the problems that don’t matter anymore, the tears that cried themselves away, and the worries that are going to wash away on the shore of tomorrow’s new beginningHe was passionate about his work and volunteered tirelessly at the local animal shelter. His quiet example of kindness and empathy will not be forgotten. [Deceased's Name]'s love for music transcended the bounds of his own life, as he taught his younger cousins how to play the guitar and the piano. This poem has touched my heart because my boyfriend decides to do coke when he is upset or something bothering him that he can't fight it to make it change. Striving to look past the panic, the gloominess and fury that may or may not be present. But to remain composed and press forward to what awaits them. Radiate boundless love towards the entire world above, below and across. Unhindered without ill will without enmity.” Oh Buddha the truth as it ever was. Neil Steinberg: That’s absolutely true. There’s a nice echo in this, the “When you start remembering”. There’s a poem, “For John Berryman”. And there’s the line, “Like waiting for a girl, had you waited”. It’s almost chiding in the same way, where they’re saying "When you finally turn and face this”. At least to me.

The refused, the ones with hope but no money or scholarships; tread the streets with the echoes of electro house pulsing in their skulls. Those who broadcast mind numbing so called reality TV shows without an underlying value or meaning.

I am your disease.

They don't know that it is just as addicting to keep refusing food, as it is to keep drinking alcohol. It's my belief that the addiction hides the real person underneath. If we, as loved ones, think that our addicts will behave and react in a "normal" manner while in the throws of addiction, we are simply deluding ourselves. addiction is silence within classrooms....why speak out loud when you are already screaming at the temptation in your mind to leave you be..
