About this deal

Gillian: Yes, but that's been true since the beginning, and yet you still read them all. Even those novellas. I want everything with you, America. I want the holidays and the birthdays, the busy season and lazy weekends. I want peanut butter fingertips on my desk. I want inside jokes and fights and everything. I want a life with you.”

All right. Enough is enough. I need to stop putting off writing this review. Maybe I feel that writing this review will truly mark the end of this series. And you know what? I don't want it to be over. This book gets a five star rating for so so many reasons. Ok so this book was not flawless. There were so many things that totally made up for it though: the plot, the romance, the characters, and the ending. Here are my thoughts on this book accompanied with gifs that embody my thoughts quite well. Y que el padre de America e incluso Gavril fueran parte de los rebeldes del Norte me tomó por sorpresa! I felt our noses brush in the dark, and the urge to kiss him came unexpectedly fast. — America Singer Jade flies across the world to meet her match, but Kevin isn't at all what she anticipated. He has stage four lymphoma, and appears to be a shell of the man who was pictured on his profile. While she has trouble processing the information at first, Jade resolves to spend as much time with Kevin as he has left. In the weeks leading up to his death, Jade revives Kevin's spirit, but she never feels that spark she's been told she'd feel upon meeting her match. Then it hits her — she's in love with Kevin's brother, Mark. Still, she agrees to marry Kevin.

How is The One series different from the book?

Another thing I was so happy and excited about was the fact that it expanded outside of the Palace. TWICE! Some pretty crazy, scary, exciting and downright devastatingly sad stuff happens during these times. Hands down this is the most exciting book out of the three. I can't wait to move on to The Heir :) With a whole lot of heartbreak. At long last Rebecca (Hannah Ware), the founder and CEO of The One, told her match Matheus (Albano Jeronimo) what happened to her murdered former friend. If you need a refresher, the formula that would turn into the mega-successful company The One was developed by James’ (Dimitri Leonidas) research with ants and Rebecca’s belief that research could translate into soulmates for people. All that they needed was a sample to prove that their theory worked. just... it's so bad I can't even find an accurate food metaphor. A tomato and marshmallow smoothie. This picture of two circles represents your state of mind. One mind is filled with a lot of thought and clutter while the other has less thought and more clarity. Which mind is at a higher state and which will perform at a higher level? Everyone I have ever shown this to and asked these questions gives the same answer. The circle on the right. The mind with less thought and more clarity is the higher state of mind. We all intuitively know the truth and know the answer. On one hand, I'm kinda happy that the series managed to close in such a way (unlike some series' *cough* Divergent *cough*). On the other hand...I'm not totally convinced The One was well thought out.

You said that to get things right one of us would have to take a leap of faith. I think I've discovered the canyon that must be leaped, and I hope to find you waiting for me on the other side. Or when you decide to spend a summer afternoon doing some light diplomacy at a tea party. Just for sh*ts and giggles. Her eyes became sympathetic. "America, you are full of nothing but bad ideas. Great intentions, but awful ideas." — Marlee Woodwork to America Singer

Can Someone Have More Than One Match?

Gillian: A major character's death that has nothing to do with the plot, is not born of the plot even though it so easily could have been, does not change the plot that follows or the main character in any way, and is executed SO POORLY that I could only guffaw in sadistic glee. But then when he apologizes for interrupting (good, it’s a bad thing you’re here, Maxon, with all the charisma of the end piece of a loaf of bread), the girls say...wait for it...that his presence actually is what made it amaaaaazing. Maxon - Oh sweet Maxon <3 He learns to trust in this book. He learns to open up and actually share his thoughts and feelings. He becomes more confident. He's going to be a great leader. Real Housewives Of Potomac' Star Ashley Darby Isn't Mad That Sonja Morgan Stole Her Owen Wilson Thunder At BravoCon: She Knew "His Fetishes"

Simple. Because nothing is actually simple. Nothing! I mean, we've spent two whole books emphasising the fact that nothing about this world, or its characters, is simple. And yet here we are, simplifying things in the final book. The more you practice this over time, the more you’ll find that your roller coaster hills of thought become less steep. The distance between your highs and lows gets smaller. You still have an ebb and flow but the ride becomes calmer and less scary. When you realize the roller coaster of thought is normal and there’s nothing wrong with you, you feel a shift immediately in your state of mind. That’s because the truth emerges and brings more clarity to you and your life. You now better understand how thoughts work. You aren’t the only one who experiences the ebb and flow of thought. Everyone does. It’s normal to have a range of thoughts, feelings, and emotions. You are simply human. Too often psychology slaps a label on you and makes you feel like something’s wrong with you, which causes you to fix what’s broken, which leads to more revved-up thought, more clutter, more anxiety, and feeling even worse. While the intention is good, the result is often bad. In many cases the answer is not to fix what’s broken but rather to remember that you are on a path to wholeness, as we will discuss often in this book. Shahid, Umnia (20 March 2016). "6 conventional life rules successful people break all the time". The Express Tribune . Retrieved 24 May 2016.

Baseball provides a great analogy. A batter goes 0–4, 0–3, and 0–4in three straight games. Without a hit in three straight games, they start thinking something is wrong. They examine their swing and wonder if something is broken. The more they think about it, the more they have anxiety. Their revved-up thought increases clutter and lowers their state of mind, causing them to experience a major slump, which leads to more questioning, more thought, more clutter, more frustration, and an even lower state of mind. Does this sound familiar? It happens to all of us in every profession and in everyday life. Think of a guy on a date. He says something that upsets the woman he likes and the date goes horribly. On his next date with another woman he is cautious and anxious and doesn’t want to say the wrong thing. He has revved-up thought and a low state of mind. The energy isn’t flowing and she declines a second date. Now the guy is questioning everything and feeling even more insecure, which could lead to a downward spiral. So what should you do when this happens to you? There Is anEbb and Flow toThought I'm just sooo emotional over this,, the sweet sweet sweetness, adorable emotional angsty love .. i love love love love this, i love it...

One morning, America finds Celeste crying alone in the library, because of the sudden popularity America gained after the last Report. Celeste admits that she is jealous of her and afraid of her own future, because her career as a model will finish when she grows older. She needs the crown's fame more than she needs Maxon's love. She apologizes to America for the bad things she has done during the Selection and they become friendlier with each other.

Gillian: There was a cheesy death fakeout. There was a cheesy "Save yourself! Live and be happy!" scene. There was a cheesy letter written from beyond the grave full of wisdom and truth. It was an endless avalanche of cliche. America and Maxon are the only non-cardboard characters. The worldbuilding is nonsense. The writing is clunky, amateurish, and obvious. I need a drink. I need several drinks. Gillian: Okay. That actually got me. FINALLY Kiera Cass writes an interesting character, and then she has to go and ruin everything with a COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS ENDING THAT COMES OUT OF NOWHERE WHEN THOSE STUPID REBELS DO THEIR STUPID REBEL THINGS AND IT MAKES NO DAMN SENSE AND OH MY GOD. I'm telling you. This wasn't real.
