About this deal

This time I get to welcome the Cherry KC 6000 Slim Keyboard in for review, let me tell you it impresses from the get-go which I wasn’t expecting! So let us get into it and see how this keyboard performs, how it is to use and all as a daily keyboard. Cherry KC 6000 Slim Specifications & Features I prefer chiclet keyboards. I haven't done any scientific analysis, but I'm confident that my words per minute typing is higher wen I'm using a keyboard that has chiclet keys. Amongst developers this in an unpopular opinion, with many developers preferring mechanical keyboards (don't be that guy smashing a mechanical keyboard in an open plan office!)

It must be USB - I understand the need for a wireless mouse, but a wireless keyboard is an unnecessary luxury for my day to day desk based work. Also, the less interacting with bluetooth, the better. It must not be garish - I don't want to demo things to clients and my keyboard be a huge distraction because it is letting off a luminous glow. This keyboard isn’t designed for gaming; it’s more for day-to-day use in an office environment. Certainly, the typing experience that the KC 6000 Slim For Mac offers is superior to that of both the keyboard of my MacBook Air and your typical rubber domes. This is by far the most important factor on any keyboard! The keys have a really nice weight and feel to them, and typing for a long amount of time on this keyboard is comfortable and does not result in any straining pains that I would sometimes get on my previous bog standard keyboard. On the subject of keycaps, the legends on the individual keys are abrasion-resistant – or laser-etched, as they’re better known. As such, it’s practically an impossibility for the legends to wear off, which means you’ll never be left guessing the key you’re pressing.

Typing away it does mightily well, for a slim keyboard it’s also really solid to use too thanks to the metal plate sandwiched in the middle which makes it very sturdy and more durable than your average office keyboard too. I was surprised at the weight of the box bearing in mind this is a slim keyboard, you would anticipate the keyboard would be relatively light and potentially flimsy but as I have mentioned the metal plate helps give this keyboard a weighty and sturdy feel, somewhat robust I would say! I didn’t use this keyboard for any gaming as it’s not really pointed at the gaming world but oh boy does the Cherry KC 6000 Keyboard type well, I have certainly enjoyed and will happily continue to enjoy it I can tell you. It is very tempting to use this keyboard as my daily keyboard in the office as it isn’t overly dissimilar to the keyboards in use there but is so much nicer to use. The Cherry KC 6000 Slim Review: The VerdictCompact dimensions leave enough space on your desk for other equipment. The scissor mechanism is practically silent and provides an excellent typing experience and a long service life. The numeric keypad means the keyboard is well prepared for frequent number entries. The CHERRY KC 6000 SLIM FOR MAC with silver housing and white keys can be used on all end devices with USB-A connection and MAC OSX operating system. * The corded KC 6000 SLIM FOR MAC is the streamlined keyboard alternative for avid writers using Mac! It must have a numeric keypad (it does make me wonder how developers and other creatives work for large amounts of time without a numeric keypad) The KC 6000 Slim For Mac features a closed housing, meaning there’s little room for dust and dirt to become bothersome. However, do be aware that this keyboard isn’t mechanical, thus the keycaps aren’t easily replaceable.
