About this deal

The Nottinghill Carnival takes central stage in this story about families, memories and the power of dance and festivals. Author Yaba Badoe tells... Crosier (joining us for the fourth year). The dates are the 10th December 2005 - 21st January 2006. It’s Behind You! is a testament to British culture and humour. Just remember not to bring any children along!

unfortunately, this book was quite disappointing ! let me preface this by saying i never usually read horror/thriller—a friend gifted it to me—, so i don't have much to compare it to, but i'm still going to try and write a constructive review ! IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ re. Use of this message board - UPDATED MAY 2021 - IBY Webmaster 1/16/2006, 10:40 pm What is the difference between Peter Pan to The Pantomime Adventures of Peter Pan? - Panto Gold 20/7/2023, 8:01 pmSince then, pantomime has been rebooted in line with other forms of popular entertainment, from working class music hall to middle class variety; radio to film and television. Today, celebrities from both sides of the Atlantic queue up to appear on British stages at Christmas. The panto season has stretched to last from the start of December to the end of January, and become essential to the UK’s theatre economy.

Written and directed by Andrew Mecham and Matthew Whedon, “Behind You” concerns two sullen young sisters who are put under the care of their estranged Aunt Beth ( Jan Broberg) after their mother died. The younger sister, Claire ( Elizabeth Birkner), doesn't like talking to strangers after the loss, and clings to her stuffed animal while older sister Olivia ( Addy Miller) tries to assist with communication. The two have a great deal of suspicion about their aunt, who voices early on that she doesn't want them there, and the neighbor Charles ( Philip Brodie), who plainly looks like he's up to no good. Aunt Beth tells them they absolutely must not go into the basement, or take the elevator, and so it's only convenient when this bossy host is also revealed to be a murderer. But there is much more to that story, and to the house, especially as young Claire gets lured down to said basement, where an evil spirit wants to get out of a mirror. Starring:- Terry Scott, Hugh Lloyd and Reg Varney, with Norman Mitchell, Patricia Lambert, Yvonne Marsh, Gerry Lee, Barbara von amateur societies and groups over a number of years. If you have any enquiries for your next pantomime that wasn't the only unrealistic part of the book. i found it kind of weird how people around her were literally dying, and Lex was barely phased by it ? it would make sense if she had previously been exposed to many deaths in her life, but that wasn't the case so i was just really confused ! and the moments she did get scared, i felt like that fear wasn't described in enough detail. the author, at best, just wrote "My heart was beating really fast", but that was about it. i get that the character was a skeptical, but any normal person would be freaked out by dead bodies !also, as an avid romance reader, i never thought i'd say this one day, but the romance in this book was completely unnecessary. like, the plot would have been the exact same without it. Lex and Liam only kissed once, and her internal monologues barely mentioned any kind of feelings towards him ? plus, they only knew each other for one night, so it felt unrealistic and like the author just wanted to add romance for the sake of it. The main problem for me is that it’s more to the younger side of YA and appeals to a munch younger audience. I don’t even know what ages they all were in the book, but they came across as really juvenile.

This was where the horror came in for me. All the unnerving scuttling about and shadows? Someone in there readying to strike. And finding out who came from finding out why - and naturally everyone (except the lead) had secrets. David Almond introduces his new picture book, A Way to the Stars, a story about perseverance and finding a way to make dreams come true.did I just finish this entire book in one sitting without even closing it once? Yes I did. To be honest I only did that because people always say you should always finish a horror movie before sleeping so I felt compelled to do the same with this horror book.
