About this deal

I am not a fragrance expert, but most have some note or another that I don't favor. It's rare to find one I really like. I've become fascinated by the history of Joy by Jean Patou although I've never experienced the original costly formulation. Of course I had to test this fragrance, too, because I thought Dior would finally be able to dare something new again. With Joy, I smell a powdery opening, then floral overload in the mid that opens up to the most delicious and real rose that I have ever smelt - I'm blown away. I'm particularly interested in perfumes that have a reverse pyramid, where the delicate notes are embedded as absoluts in the perfume and come towards the end. (Rather than the typical, soft notes in the opening, a layer of deeper notes in the mid, then woods, resins and amber at the base. Boring!) Is that metal exhaustion of the owners - or what? Big money offered for the brand assets to wipe them out? In my favourite perfumery, where I hadn't been in for a while (I'm pretty happy right now), a Joy sample was waiting for me. You can spray yourself generously with it, after only one sprayer the scent was in 10 minutes no longer to be guessed.

Top notes : Opens with Bergamot, Mandarin Orange, Freesia, Orange Blossom, Iris, Coriander, Osmanthus and Gardenia So Dior brings out a fragrance that actually already exists. By the way, I made the direct comparison on my skin, can not only write this from the memory of Allure. Within an hour, there's a little sourness too. Two and a half hours later, and my idyllic stroll around those spectacular gardens may have been a day dream. On my skin, Joy becomes increasingly metallic. There's still a little powder there, but it's staring to smell like a wet, wire scourer. Are all my joys over? As time presses on, my skin brings out the absolute worst of Joy, it makes a mess of the lasting base notes. Kerleo stepped down in 1999 [6] appointing Jean-Michel Duriez as house perfumer. Duriez creations include "Un Amour de Patou" (1998), "Enjoy" (2003) and "Sira des Indes" (2006). I rotated wearing Joy with less expensive florals to see how it was received by the men around me. The men, who asked me out and dated, seemed to respond more enthusiastically to the less expensive floral fragrances.JOY was created with a lot of care, just like the most expensive Haute-Cotture dress, and thus it was extraordinary and timeless. It was presented by Jean Patou as \'the world\'s most expensive perfume\' right at the time of The Great Depression in 1929, when the market of luxury fashion crushed and Jean Patou\'s house could survive only through the perfumes.

Middle notes : At the heart of the fragrance lies Boronia, Rosemary, Amaryllis, Ylang-Ylang, Lily, Jasmine, Lilac and Lily-of-the-Valley I then bought a new EDT (produced by SA Designer Perfumes) because I was really wanting a spray and more longevity. The new EDT has a more defined opening with some aldehydes and fruit, a lasting heart of indolic jasmine and rose, and eventually transitioning to the soapy base I loved from the older EDT. (About 4+ hours of longevity, but still 4 wonderful hours).Joy" was voted "Scent of the Century" by the public at the Fragrance Foundation FiFi Awards in 2000, beating its rival " Chanel No. 5".
