Malory Towers is a series of books written by the popular children's author Enid Blyton, with the final six books in the series being completed by Pamela Cox. The books are set in an all-girls boarding school in Cornwall, England, and follow the lives of the students who attend the school. Malory Towers is probably Enid Blyton's best and most worthy set of stories. The characters are complex and nuanced, the story is relatable and not dependent on smugglers, kidnappers or spies always turning up in the same exact same place as the heroes for the seventeenth successive set of school holidays and the location is well-researched and gorgeous in the imagination. You came up with heaps of brilliant suggestions for these young readers - here are just some of them: Ivy is one of Daffy's followers and friends. Darrell is pictured as someone with a bad temper, but also possesses the ability to have it under control. She grows up to be the head girl of the entire school by the time she is in her sixth form. Other Characters Involved in the Series The German version, published in the 1960s and 1970s underwent substantial changes to catch up with time (e.g. turntables instead of gramophones), to better resemble German grammar schools (playing handball instead of lacrosse). Furthermore, there were changes to character names - for instance, Darrell was re-named Dolly. From 1977 to 1997, twelve sequel books were published, telling Dolly's further life which always stays close to the school: after studying at a partner university, she works as a house mistress, marries one of the teachers, and has a child of her own. The story ends in the 18th book with old Miss Grayling's dignified retirement - and Dolly as her successor. Bridget Linton is Moira's younger sister, who is in the fourth form in In the Fifth at Malory Towers. With Ellen still missing after being caught with Mr. Parker's pen, the girls begin to question whether or not she is truly innocent. It forces Sally to look into Ellen's trunk only to learn she only has a blanket. Gwen comes up with the idea that Ellen must be stealing everything since she's poor, so the girls decide to talk to Miss Grayling about it during the break. Meanwhile Gwen decides to try and get rid of the stuff she has stolen, but in the process it could cause Mary-Lou to get hurt.

Ellen worries that her Malory Towers scholarship may be taken away from her if she does not perform well in her academic work. Despite overworking to prepare for a class test, she convinces herself that she is a failure and, distraught, runs away. Gwen's preparations for the school play, meanwhile, are not going well, and the rumour that Malory Towers may be forced to close because of financial problems is spreading wider.

Darrell races to the beach searching for June while Felicity searches the school grounds. June finds a chest that reveals Sir Charles might not be whom he has portrayed being all along, but in the process she gets herself and Darrell stranded at the cave as the water rushes in to drown them. Meanwhile Irene accidentally loses her father's wedding ring, but as the group tries to figure out how they can recover it, Felicity realizes a passage is present that may very well save Darrell and June and help confirm whom Sir Charles truly is. As if that weren't enough, the day ends with the wedding of Mam'Zelle and Irene's father. Pam Bateman is described to be a placid, kind and very good-natured friend. Her best friend is Nora.
