About this deal

Historical Note: Once the V15-V was introduced, the IV design was reused for the M97. In 1973, the V15 Type III debuts with a uniformly flat, unaccented, uncolored frequency response. This was accomplished by reducing the stylus mass by 25% and by employing a new laminated pole piece design. Did you record before the stylus changes, without issues? Or are you new to recording? I don't think recording with Shure vs recording with Jico should produce all these new issues with volume changes. Estetique side are not the most beautiful, but it did not matter much, I especially love these beautiful low dynamic, well rounded, well doduu! The M31 and M32 and the Pacific M73PE shown here, shared the M44/55/V15I body, but in a different housing. I cut away the front of the left one to fit an N44-7 stylus. Could not find out if the Tonar are rebranded Jico but seems possible. They advised that the only difference between the 'N44-7' and 'N44-G' models (1.5-3g) and the 'N44-7 DJ/Club' and 'N44-G DJ/Club' is the colour of the body.

And we have tested them all on the same system in a bar with the owner of the place and even a customer once. Unanimously the DJ got the favor of us all. Requiring higher VTF, but manage to push on the VTF of the "standard" to 2.5g. and the lowest VTF @ 3g. on the "DJ" to meet on "evenly" VTF for whatever that's worth. My preconception was that the M44-7 would produce an inflated bass in comparison with the others, but that is not the case. I didn't notice any channel imbalance. Everything sounded fine, except for the occasional bass distortion.

Regarding the Shure M44G and M44-7, both improved original versions, I can say that they sound pretty similar. I think I would skip the more expensive Shures like the M97 or M91 and buy one of these. They are typically half the price or at least far less. Throw a new eliptical needle in yours and enjoy the music! Skilled DJs demand specialized tools that can help them push their creativity to the edge – consistently testing the boundaries in the realm of performance.

being stiffer, and jumping more, you need more weight, and and test scratching with them heavier, they seem to burn/wear the record noticeably faster A: I doubt it. Here is what I read: there were 25 million vinyl records produced in 2019; in 1976 there were half a billion. You can never say never, but probably not. I agree that the three styli give very similar results. For my taste the G sounds slightly more refined (maybe more restrained) than the others. I know that frequency response is not the only factor to consider, but I thought it would be interesting to compare the three files for frequency, analyzing the whole file in each case. I am exactly on the same boat. My 5 months n447 was bent and even being able to put in more or less on its place to play a gig it is tilted to one side so probably won’t last long. Juno sells tonar, I was wondering if anyone did an AB test with a original one to see how it performs

I have a preference for the latter, because it sounds a bit more lively and has a richer presentation. https://www.turntablelab.com/products/jico-n-44g-improved-replacement-stylus-for-shure-m44g-192-44g-imp
