Ramadan (0 Comments)

In this article, our purpose is to translate the daily routine of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) into a practical guide that will not only let you see the beauty and relevance of his life to your life but will become a blueprint for the habits and routines you need to adapt in your life to live the best version of yourself: spiritually, physically, and socially. Other topics covered in this book include the importance of setting goals, developing a vision and developing good habits. There is an extra chapter at the end focusing on productivity in Ramadan. Review of the Productive Muslim: Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “If only you relied on Allah a true reliance, He would provide sustenance for you just as He does the birds: They fly out in the morning empty and return in the afternoon with full stomachs. (Ahmad, An-Nasa’I, Ibn Majah, Al-Hakim and At-Tirmidhi) 4. Reading QuranWhile many books about self-help only cover one area, such as business or family, Faris’ work stands out for its comprehensive approach to life. Some chapters do indeed cover the usual suspects of business success and family balance. However, the author branches out into success in religious devotion, dua, and the importance of valuing the hereafter. Before reading this book I had heard people say success in deen is linked to success in dunya. However, The Productive Muslim explained this principle to me in clear, convincing detail. Faris shows us that productivity is not an end in itself, but a means to the highest success: Jannah. It is vital to keep in mind that we are not going to live in this world forever. We are here for a short time, and we need to prepare for the real life as mentioned in the Quran: "The life of this world is nothing but diversion and play, but the abode of the Hereafter is indeed Life (itself), had they known!" (29:64). Therefore, if we live every moment of our life knowing that we are traveling to the real world any moment, then we will try our best to make the best out of our time, energy, and talents. We never even start asking ourselves, if we can have a different attitude towards these insects. In our understanding, they are dirty, aggravating creatures that should be destroyed. Yet, it has happened to me to watch some well-made documentary films about insects. And think to myself why I am so ignorant and hostile towards these beautiful creatures of God. Prejudice and Discrimination In the Quran, Allah (SWT) has always put faith beside practice, which shows the importance of taking action instead of being passive human beings: "By time! Man is indeed in loss, except those who have faith and do righteous deeds, and enjoin one another to [follow] the truth, and enjoin one another to patience." (103: 1- 3) 8. Remembering Death and Thinking of Hereafter

Or you might realize that accepting that next promotion will affect your health and family life since it requires constant traveling and lots of late-night meetings. Use this space in the Istikharah Notepad to write a clear statement on the decision you’re making. What’s my niyyah (intention) for this decision? A faithful slave is better than an idolater, though he should impress you.” (2: 221) We are not sure of the opportunity cost of each decision we make and whether there are better decisions we could have made.
