About this deal

This was one of those books I didn’t want to stop listening to. It was 16 hours long and I listened to it in a day and a half! If you’re a fan of Kristen Ashley’s older books (think the CM series) this book gave off those same vibes. The story was different, but it gave me the same kind of feelings, as well as having epic secondary characters. I highly recommend this one and really hope Score gives us some more books, specifically Nash’s! I love you, Knox. And I’m never going to stop being grateful for everything you are and all that you’ve done.” Pretend You’re Mine is narrated from the point of view of the two lead characters: Luke Garrison and Harper Wilde. It’s an addictive light read featuring a multitude of dialogues. The plot focuses on the romance of the protagonists, but when we are advanced in the story, you will get good surprises because several turns appear that will have you even more hooked. Regarding the characters, the protagonists are very well crafted, and in the end, we see a clear development. Additionally, the story would not be the same without the secondary characters that contribute many things to the novel and enable the readers to get a better understanding of the main characters.

Finally, the repetition. Oh my god, the amount of times I read that this girl always took care of others and didn't take the time to see what she wanted or needed, was the most infuriating thing EVER. unrealistic dialogue from the male friends of hero who literally stage an intervention trying to convince H that shes the best thing that ever happened to him Sloane Walton is a spitfire determined to carry on her father’s quest for justice. She’ll do that just as soon as she figures out exactly what the man she hates did to—or for—her family. Bonded by an old, dark secret from the past and the dislike they now share for each other, Sloane trusts Lucian about as far as she can throw his designer-suited body. Amanda noticed first. Her scream of joy brought Lou, Nash, and Lucian tearing out of the den, looking for a threat. It also woke the baby, who was not pleased about being screamed awake. Coffee was this girl's ENTIRE personality for most of the book. I don't mind characters having an obsession with a food or drink, but when it's ALL they talk about, think about, or go get, it's ANNOYING.Things We Hide From the Light is the Things We Never Got Over sequel and Lucy Score’s second installment in what is to be a three-book series. While the first book, Things We Never Got Over, told the story of Knox Morgan and Naomi Witt, Things We Hide From the Light focuses on Knox’s brother, police chief Nash Morgan, and insurance agent Lina Solavita. City girl Calla Fletcher flies out to Alaska to reconnect with her estranged father Wren after learning that his days are numbered. But when it comes time to leave the beautiful state behind, Calla finds herself pulled in two different directions: one pushing her to the bustling city of Toronto and the other to the brutally honest, rugged Alaskan pilot Jonah. Call Me Irresistible by Susan Elizabeth Phillips I thought I was deluding myself when I finished this book?! I thought to myself, “did I really love this??? Or was this just the first book I got excited for in what feels like a while??” When Meg Koranda learns that her friend Lucy is having cold feet on her wedding day, Meg talks her into pulling a runaway bride moment, circa Julia Roberts. After all, she knows the town’s golden boy turned mayor Ted Beaudine is not the right person for her best friend. There’s just one problem. The jilted groom is none too happy about being left at the altar, and who better to punish than the instigator of the mess? Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert Naomi and Knox are immediately attracted to one another but dance around their magnetism, as neither is looking for or desiring a relationship. As the story progresses, however, their connection is undeniable and they soon throw out all the rules they’ve set in place.

The "climax" with the sister and her boyfriend was so unrealistic I was dying laughing. And not in a good way 💀 heroine has the best gay best friend (1. why are the male best friends in romance always gay if they are not the love interest? 2. he is in the mafia or what are those mysterious business calls he always has to take??? 3. where is Stef’s book??!)There is a happily ever after, and not only do we get one epilogue, BUT ALSO A BONUS EPILOGUE. Seriously, in that bonus epilogue?!?!? With Way and Knox and the way they spoke to each other?! OH MY GOD MY HEART EXPLODED!! She hopes to someday write from a sailboat, oceanfront condo, or tropical island with reliable Wi-Fi. For a second, I wished fiercely that my own mother could have met her grandkids. That she could see how her sons had grown up and the women we’d chosen. But loss was part of love. Lucy Score is an instant #1 New York Times bestselling author. She grew up in a literary family who insisted that the dinner table was for reading and earned a degree in journalism.

Lucian and Sloane, both minor characters in the first two books, finally receive the spotlight they so deserve. We now learn why Lucian is the way he is, how Sloan plays into it from Day 1, and how the two fit into one another’s lives. This story does end with a HEA for the couple, and Knox did make an effort to change towards the end, but it was a little too late for me. We all have hang-ups, but it doesn’t mean we go through life as a jerk. I felt he was emotionally abusive, controlling, and passive-aggressive.

Publication Order of Sinner and Saint Books

As hinted at in the previous two books, Lucian and Sloane have a history and are arch-enemies. The two can barely stand to be in a room together without shooting insults and quips in one another’s direction. Leaving the EXTREMELY obnoxious, forced and stereotypical gay representation in this aside... Let's start with the fact that some authors just go overboard with their "sunshine" characters. Why does every sunshine woman need to be co-dependent? Why can't you write a NORMAL bubbly woman, who knows how to be a functional adult? I watched my wife sway from side to side in one of those long, flowing sundresses that still managed to drive me crazy. I made sure she had a closet full of them. Knox has a steadfast aversion to complications, particularly high-maintenance women, especially those seeking romance. However, when Naomi's life unravels before his eyes, he can't help but lend a helping hand to get her out of her predicament. His plan is simple: once she stops finding herself in new troubles, he can return to his peaceful and solitary existence. Nash is in a funk as the book begins as he is trying to heal both mentally and physically from a gunshot wound that occurred in the first book. He cannot seem to get his head on straight or enjoy what he previously did, not even his work.
