Personally I think if you are sure you are going to hold onto a piece of physical media for years and years then the impact of buying it is nothing on the way most of us consume single use plastics to this day. A huge percentage of those don’t get recycled even if that’s our intention. In the US so much of our recyclables are shipped to third world countries where they wind up in landfills or are burned.
