About this deal

Although this contemporary scent was only introduced in 2018, there are rumours of it being discontinued so grab a bottle of this classy fragrance while you can. Smells incredibly expensive. The opening is sharp and zesty with lemon, bergamot and lime all jostling for your attention. There is also a touch of lavender that subtly creeps in. A heart of mixed herbs, in particular the liquorice scent of anise and caraway blend with orange blossom for a sophisticatedly fresh masculine vibe. With the previous success of the Havana scents, could Aramis have another classic hit on their hands? The fragrances have decidedly different compositions but I'm eager to compare them as Aramis typically creates easy-to-like scents at affordable prices (though complexity and longevity aren't quite their strong suits). Michael Kors allegedly will join Versace in EuroItalia's portfolio. Inter Parfums has taken Donna Karan and DKNY. The opening is incredibly luxurious and masculine, with orange, basil, caraway and a touch of artemisia. The dominant tobacco note from the heart is dusted with bitter-sweet cinnamon, and the slight freshness of pine trees is also apparent.

And so, increasingly fighting his nervousness with rum, he hoped to get through the days before arriving at Point Comfort. For one thing was certain: he would not dabble in honest trade any time soon. It was just far too risky... So on the passage to Point Comfort, the crew was in high spirits, while their captain grew more nervous by the day. The crew blamed it on possible discovery by the British. No wonder, they couldn't even have put up a proper fight, the gun barrels were stuffed with tobacco and they wouldn't have found the powder among all the cargo. But that was not the reason. Opening with a blast of green notes, coriander, citrus and rosewood, you could be fooled into thinking that’s it. Patience is needed for this beauty to fully reveal itself. Upon dry-down, a sensual base of rich, spicy (and slightly fruity) cashmeran becomes the star of the show, with cedar and warm amber close behind producing a rather luxurious finish. Although tonka bean is listed, I did not personally detect any.

I remember when everyone was buying aqua fragrances and then that died out with some exceptions. Same sort of thing. Are people just moving on from tobacco fragrances beyond the ones that have been around for years? Obviously Burberry London for example isn't going away anytime soon and still sells well.

Well, I don't know. I think I only bought it because it's pretty unique for me and a "real" Aramis. So, out of decency, somehow. I also take was not really masculine, but to women it does not fit either (except see later in the text). From the level and the speciality (not from the smell!) it should be possible to position it next to the Aramis (Classic) (unfortunately I can't find anything about first scent impressions from 1964). I had read in another commentator once, "it is not a scent but a smell". That's the way I'd see it here. The or a peculiarity, something long and sensational both have as characteristic. But I can't spontaneously think of the occasion for which I should wear it - except to go to church or as an altar boy. The fragrance could fit to the "Allvater" because of the sacral opulence (who knows the series "The Preacher"...). No kidding aside. Probably it comes across well on a lonely forest walk in autumn or winter (no matter region, the main thing is lonely). I once had an office colleague from the gothic scene. A very sweet and nice one (she had such small, sweet coffins in her potted flowers...). She always wore an extreme sweet Patchouli incense stuff unknown to me (was probably a self-creation). I think she'd like the scent. At the moment, however, I remain on the usage route. The opening begins with the earthy floral note of clary sage entwined with zesty bergamot and spicy-sweet cinnamon. A boozy heart of whiskey works incredibly well with the rich earthy/spicy note of cypriol, both adding masculine depth and a touch of mystery.

Upon dry-down, patchouli and oakmoss provide additional punch, with woody notes coming into play once this scent has fully settled. Presented in a straight-lined bottle with a gun-metal grey cap and complementing grey coloured label with white surround. The fragrance itself emits a golden glow. Or is it really no more complicated than Aramis Tobacco Reserve just wasn't that good or unique to stand out from the crowd of more recently released tobacco fragrances?

As for when to wear, Aramis Modern Leatheris a perfect day or night frag for spring and autumn when the weather is temperate rather than too hot or too cold. Can be worn as a casual scent or more formal. This is an incredibly versatile and refined cologne which is pretty much an any-season fragrance. More suited to daytime smart-casual wear rather than full-on formal evening attire, it feels great on. A smooth sweet tobacco (not the dark) sitting on a bed of warm and sweet tonka bean with a bit of spice&moss. The spiciness is fresh yet warm, dry and refined with the nutmeg and slight clary sage. The oakmoss is realistic and blends well providing the right amount of earthiness to add some masculine sex appeal, the tonka is nicely rendered here and not at all cloying or overpowering. It's a green from a night garden, fresh and ready to morning dew. It's not quiet, it speaks and you can hear it clearly, like a singer, you will hear it and it will enchant you with it's voice. At this point, I am really reminded of my late grandmothers garden where geranium always bloomed to beautifully. Upon dry-down, oakmoss appears first, yet is soon overtaken by a quality leather note that is both classy and refined. Presented in true Aramis style with its elegant straight-lined bottle with gold cap and brown leather coloured label with gold edging.

The Tobacco Reserve starts very sweet with tonka and tobacco. Sage spices and nutmeg provides a very subtle spiciness. Fruity notes flashed briefly times and are then gone again. I would not have recognized currant. A little moss at the end and that's it. The initial sweetness becomes more bearable as it progresses, resulting in a finely balanced scent between tobacco and spices that also has a fairly good longevity. Smoky I do not find him thereby. According to wwd, by 2023, Estée Lauder will wind down several of its licenses – Aramis, Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors, Donna Karan, DKNY and Ermenegildo Zegna. Aramis will be still kept under Estee Lauder but moved into another division within the company. The bottle itself remains pretty much untouched from the 1960s. It’s manly, weighty, straight-lined bottle emits the golden glow of the fragrance lurking inside. Completed with a gold cap.

Tuscany Per Uomois a bright, refreshing and utterly luxurious combination of citrus and herb notes that drys down to a sumptuous leather base. Extremely versatile, this feel-good masculine fragrance brings the Italian Tuscan coast to your fragrance collection. As for when to wear, Tuscany Per Uomofeels like an any-season daytime fragrance that is bright and cheerful. Makes a great office scent, holiday scent, or casual every-day fragrance.

Reviews

As for when to wear, this spicy/sweet tonka bean and tobacco seems almost tailor-made for the chilly autumn and winter months. I would say better suited for later afternoon and evening. Very classy.
