The Godox AD range of flash heads is by far the most popular of the Godox flash series and for good reason! Every light is powerful, portable, lightweight and exceptionally high quality, so it's no wonder that photographers are all looking to expand their kit using these lighting solutions. However, a few of the questions we often get asked are, what exactly is the difference between the lights in this series, what can each power level of the AD range get you, and which modifiers will these lights work with? Depending on the size of your parcel, the courier covering your area and your location these parcels may take between 1 and 5 days to arrive. The Godox AD300 Pro is ideal for portraits, weddings, events, and commercial work. The power from the light is enough for any small to medium-sized studio for full-length shots. For my portraits with the light only one to two meters away, I only needed to use the flash with a fraction of its power to give me the results I was after. The quality of light is also great – the color was consistent throughout my shoot, with no obvious or varying color casts over the series of images I shot. The AD300Pro has an internal fan that will come on after enough consecutive flashes for the temperature to rise, the fan is a little whiney, but the volume isn’t loud enough to be annoying, and my music in the studio easily covered it up.
In our tests using a Canon-dedicated Flashpoint R2 Pro 2.4GHz Transmitter, TTL flash metering was a touch on the bright side, equating to half an f/stop of overexposure. Even so, the results were impressively consistent in a wide range of shooting conditions and over varying distances, so you can reliably dial in a little negative flash exposure compensation if desired. Godox AD300Pro: Final Verdict The estimated delivery lead-times days are purely a guideline. In most instances, deliveries happen within these periods, but we can't, unfortunately, guarantee these delivery times, since this is outside of our control. And sometimes outside of the control of our delivery partners too I tested the flash durations using the Sekonic L-858d-u light meter, and the results were all better than the figures Godox includes on the display.For light output, the AD300 Pro fits directly between the AD400 Pro and AD200 Pro. It was a half stop more powerful than the AD200, and a half stop less powerful than the AD400 Pro, which makes perfect sense.
