Logan, Mary (2008). Nordy: Arnold Nordmeyer - A Political Biography. Wellington, NZ: Steele Roberts Publishers. pp.36–37. ISBN 978-1-877448-33-1.

By the 1930s Holland had a decreasing influence on policy details, with most being instead written by the party general secretary, Nash, who would only consult with Holland when writing manifestos. The main reason for this was Holland's personal financial situation which led to much of his attention being spent on writing articles and pamphlets to supplement his parliamentary salary. By 1929 he was in debt and had no life or fire insurance. Eventually he received financial aid from the party head office who provided 1/3 of a salary for an assistant to help Holland with his correspondence (he received 679 letters from January to March 1930 alone) with Holland paying the rest. He also published a book, Red Roses on the Highway, in 1924. [29] He also concentrated his writings and speeches more on foreign affairs. Holland was particularly critical of the government's treatment of the people of Western Samoa. His colleagues attempted to dissuade him from putting an item on Samoa in an election manifesto, thinking it would not be helpful politically by saying that Samoa was not British. Holland protested, "But it's right!" John A. Lee thought that Holland had a "Samoan complex" and told him so. [30] Shortly before the 1919 election, the first contested by the Labour party as a united bloc, Holland contested for the leadership of the Labour party. Previous Labour leader Alfred Hindmarsh had died in the influenza epidemic in late 1918 leaving the position open. His only opponent was previous party president James McCombs, who had more parliamentary experience than Holland. The caucus voted and the result was a draw, though after a draw by lot, Holland won the parliamentary leadership of the party, becoming Labour's next leader. [22] Most historians see his victory as being due to his public profile rather than to his policies, which many in the Labour Party considered too extreme.

Guys after doing complete research, we wrote this article about Harry Holland biography and all Facts, So if you are a fan of Harry Holland read this article carefully. Or rather the 5ft 8 web-slinging vigilante. Dom Holland, you see, is Spider-Man’s dad. His 26-year-old son, Tom Holland, is the star of the three most recent Spider-Man films, including 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, the sixth highest-grossing film of all time. This year, he fronted the video game adaptation Uncharted alongside Mark Wahlberg. And he’s set to play Fred Astaire in a forthcoming biopic of the great triple-threat American icon. Today, the young actor has a fair claim to be the biggest young British film star in the world. While the warring families slung insults, the teenage girl sat weeping in the body of the court, flanked by her solicitor who comforted her.

I was terrified watching that film. Playing Spider-Man, you’re very much in the crosshairs, and there was an awful lot of hate when he was announced. The pressure was immense. But I saw it and thought: ‘Bloody hell, Tom, you’re Peter Parker.’” If I’d have been boxing today, I’d get a lot more money. We got peanuts in them days. You see people now getting all this money, and I don’t think some of these fighters are worth that much. Another thing is I think they should stop the crowd drinking, because that brings aggression. After they’ve seen a fight, they think they’re boxers and I’ve seen fights in the crowd at boxing. I’ve seen them standing up in the aisle pissed, and it’s not right.” The sold-out event at Penrith leisure centre in the Lake District saw the local boxers go up against competitors from the UK and Europe. When I ask about the future, he makes a point of surveying all their young lives – which, after all, have barely begun. What does he wish for them? “I hope the boys stay close,” he says. “Tom has made the surname something else, but I hope they have happy adulthoods, because happiness is a choice.” Instead, he threw himself into the “lucrative but anonymous” circuit of corporate gigs, and spent more time on his writing. As well as a weekly blog, he has written nine books. The first two were released by Hodder, the rest are self-published. In conversation and in his writing, Holland is an amusing yet introspective figure. Self-doubt, you feel, always lurks just beyond the stage lights. Holland's successor, the more moderate Michael Joseph Savage, went on to lead the Labour Party to victory in the 1935 election. He has a memorial in the Bolton Street Cemetery in Wellington, near to that of Richard Seddon, unveiled in 1937 by Savage with the inscription " This monument is dedicated to Henry Edmund Holland Leader of the Labour Party 1919-33 to commemorate his work for humanity. He devoted his life to free the world from unhappiness, tyranny and oppression." [35]
