About this deal

Over the past decade or so, sales of the playful Italian sparkling wine known as prosecco have soared, and it’s no surprise why. As Champagne prices continue to climb—and the fervent interest in delicious bubbles remains as enthusiastic as ever—prosecco has emerged as the affordable, fruit-forward solution to satisfying one's sparkling needs. However, while every prosecco is made from the glera grape and hails from the same region in northeastern Italy, not all proseccos are created equal. So how to separate the lesser examples from the ones that are molto bene? The Orientali vineyards are in the lee of the Julian Alps and are cooler than the vineyards of Collio Goriziano though they are protected from northerly winds and have a more continental climate. They sit at altitudes of between 330 and 1200 metres on soils that were once beneath the ocean, so marl and sandstone predominate. The Collio Goriziano vineyards enjoy slightly greater influence from the Adriatic to the south, though the cool air draining from the higher ground in the north plays its part, and the vineyards sit upon the many steep slopes in this hilly country. Viewers were left baffled as to how Rose could ‘agree to disagree’ with Farage but still hold a grudge against Sireieix. For allergens, see ingredients in bold. May contain traces of sesame and various nuts. Nutritional information As the Moon rises above the horizon it may appear larger than normal, although this is just an optical illusion. What’s important about these Proseccos is that the brands below were sampled without prior knowledge as to their source – the sparklers were tasted ‘blind’, which removes any risk of prejudicial judgments, which we believe is vital for the fair and accurate quality assessment of drinks.

WheatFlour, Vegetable Fat [Responsibly Sourced Palm Fat, Water, Emulsifier: E471 (Mono And Diglycerides From Fatty Acids), Acidity Regulator: Citric Acid], Maltodextrin (From Corn), Salt (2.3%), MilkPowder, Raising Agent: Sodium Bicarbonate, Ammonium Bicarbonate; EggPowder, Pepper (0.6%), SoyaFlour. While often thought of as sweeter than Champagne, most Prosecco is dry or off-dry. What does brut mean in Prosecco? The pair went on to have a discussion about why certain ethnicities may not like him, with Farage telling Rose that she’d be ‘surprised’ by the amount of people that actually do like him. Prosecco should be served cold (38–45 °F / 3–7 °C), and most will agree that the best glass to serve Prosecco in is a sparkling tulip glass. The tulip glass is ideal because it’s tall and slender, which helps preserve the bubbles’ finesse for longer, while the larger bulb at the top helps collect more of the wine’s floral aromas. The Perfect Mimosa Wine

character, it’s pure and bright, as well as juicy and ripe, and complemented by a lovely creamy-textured fizz. Quite dry by Prosecco standards, this expression delivers more fresh fruit than sweetness, and represents a serious style of Prosecco for a surprisingly affordable price point. Three regions constitute this wide and varied area. In the very north-east, abutting Slovenia and Croatia lies Friuli-Venezia Giulia. South and east of Venice spreads the broad swathe of the Veneto, one of Italy's main wine producing areas in terms of volume. Finally, falling from the foothills of the Dolomites is Trentino-Alto Adige.

Asolo Prosecco DOCG: Across the river from the Conegliano-Valdobbiadene region you can find another smaller hillside region producing excellent wines with high-quality standards. Wines are labeled Asolo Prosecco on the bottle (and formerly: Colli Asolani). When opening a bottle of prosecco, remember it will behave far better and more predictably if it has been left to sit and chill for a few hours. Warmth and/or rough handling both make for an explosive cork situation, meaning more mess and waste. Fizz should go into glasses, not onto ceilings. The Conegliano-Valdobbiandene region is a stunningly beautiful set of green hills covered with vineyards. It rains quite a lot here and as a result, the best vineyards generally are found on southern facing slopes with good drainage and gentle winds that dry the grapes out after their daily shower. Prosecco has been made in this area for around 300 years (although earlier styles were likely less bubbly). Prosecco is surprisingly versatile and pairs well with a wide range of cuisine genres and dishes. It’s one of those wines that can be served as an aperitif (before food) but also works well alongside the main entrée. Like all wines, Prosecco is best stored under cellar conditions (55 degrees in a dark and optimally humid environment) prior to consumption. As with other sparkling wines, Prosecco is best enjoyed chilled. Then Rose asked: “So everyone hates you for no reason? Not that everyone hates you, that was so bad. Sorry.” ITV Prosecco Conegliano Valdobbiadene Superiore Rive DOCG: Wines made from specific communes or vineyards within Conegliano-Valdobbiadene. There are 43 communes that can be labeled as such. Trentino-Alto Adige was once part of the Austro-Hungarian empire and in the northern parts of the province (Alto Adige) German is still widely spoken. Indeed, the architecture, food and customs owe much to their Teutonic roots and there are elements that remain in the vineyards that echo a Germanic past. Riesling is planted here and the village of Tramin gave its name to the gewürztraminer grape which is now so widely planted in another region with Germanic influences, Alsace. To reinforce that comparison, sylvaner, muscat, müller-thurgau and pinot gris (grigio) are also to be found here.
