The headphones are very good at switching between multiple connections. I had my pair of QC35s connected to both my laptop and my phone, and the headphones had no trouble switching between the two as I played music alternately from both devices.

Bose QuietComfort 35 II vs Bose QuietComfort 45 - SoundGuys Bose QuietComfort 35 II vs Bose QuietComfort 45 - SoundGuys

The QuietComfort 35 II certainly live up to the 'comfort' part of their name. At 310g, they are significantly lighter than the B&W PX and have a softer grip than Sony’s headphones. No aptX support. The only high quality Bluetooth codec supported by these headphones is AAC, and this is only compatible with iOS, not Android. The self-noise value in Noise Isolation was corrected. The active noise cancellation performance has not changed. No Siri. You’d think that since the AAC codec is most compatible with iPhones, the QC 35 II would have inbuilt Siri, but they don’t. You can, however, access Siri through the multifunction button.Dynamically, these headphones can take changes in intensity in their stride. From the quieter drums and strings that rise up when the song begins to the hearty, husky tones of Lisa Gerrard’s idioglossia (her invented language) that fill the space, these headphones make smooth transitions allowing you to really become immersed in your music. If your headphones won’t re-connect to your smartphone by Bluetooth, first make sure the audio cable and USB charging cable are unplugged. If this doesn’t work, use your smartphone to disable and re-enable Bluetooth. Still having problems? Delete the headphones from your phone’s Bluetooth device menu and retry the initial pairing process. It may also help to remove some other Bluetooth devices from your smartphone to avoid cluttering it. The headphones doesn’t automatically switch to the device playing content In short, the addition of Google Assistant is nice to have but is by no means the reason you should buy the Bose QC35 II NC: buy this headphone for its excellent noise cancellation, balanced sound, and incredible comfort. Have you tried turning them off and on again? I know, this seems basic, but you’d be surprised how many technological bugs can be fixed with a simple reboot. If this doesn’t work, continue on to the next steps. The headband connecting the two earcups is well padded, and the way the headphones sit on your head is very comfortable overall. Partly this is because their weight is nicely distributed, but it's also partly because of the quality of the cushioning on the cups. I have personally worn these headphones for hours at a time and have found them to be comfortable throughout.

But while these headphones have an enjoyable sound, their rivals are a clear step ahead. The WH-1000XM3 (and newer WH-1000XM4) have an earthier bass and more insight, while the PX (and more recent PX7) have a better sense of rhythm and dynamics. Verdict When it comes to Bluetooth music streaming there's standard Bluetooth and then there's AptX Bluetooth. The latter is appreciably better for streaming music, but Apple's devices only support the former. You can read more about the difference between them in our Bluetooth vs AptX explainer.

We've added a note regarding audio while charging while also using the analog cable. However, the Battery score hasn't changed. It's a minor point, but whenever you turn the headphones on they helpfully play a short audio notification of both the device they're connected to as well as how much battery life is left. It rounds this to the closest 10%, but it's still a helpful indicator to have. The Bose QuietComfort 35 II are a minor updateto the Bose QuietComfort 35/QC35Wireless 2016with a better control scheme that gives you a bit more control over the noise cancellation and allows you to easily accessGoogle Assistant/Alexa. They're amongthe bestwireless headphones we've tested thanks to their very comfortable design and well-balanced sound profile. However, their sound can't be customized like some of the competing models, like the Bose QuietComfort Headphones Wireless or Sony WH-1000XM4 Wireless.

Bose QuietComfort 35 II Gaming Headset review - SoundGuys Bose QuietComfort 35 II Gaming Headset review - SoundGuys

The Bose QuietComfort 35 II Gaming Headset features the same neutral-leaning frequency response as the QC35 II did. While there’s a little wobbling on the chart in the high end, and notable bump in the sub-bass, but for the most part pretty much everything should sound how it should. These are headphones that fit our target quite well all things considered. Lows, mids, and highs I wasn't completely sold on the Active EQ features of the headphones which boosts the bass frequencies slightly as you lower the volume to compensate for how lower volumes tend to bias higher frequencies. If you aren’t bothered about the smarts, you can program the button to cycle through the headphones’ three noise-cancelling levels instead (‘low’, ‘high’ or ‘off’). Most listeners will find the sound quality of the Bose great if taken in isolation. Audiophiles will want to go with the Sony WH-1000XM3 or Sennheiser Momentum Wireless 2 instead. The headphones that came before these, the Bose QuietComfort 25 , enjoyed a huge amount of success after arriving in 2014. In the years since, the number of wireless models on the market has exploded, meaning Bose had to make the jump to wireless sooner or later. Anyone who's ever laid eyes on Bose's QuietComfort 25s will find the 35s instantly familiar. The simple design of their oval earcups might not be the most exciting on the market, but I personally prefer them to some of the more 'fashionable' efforts of Bose's competitors. On the other end of the sound spectrum, these headphones keep a controlled and measured management of the high treble.
