Fully Fire Retardant – Flysheet, Bedrooms, Mesh and Groundsheet ALL now fully fire retardant to British Standards. We bought this in April for the two of us and our Labrador (tent, porch, footprint and carpet) from Go Outdoors. Very low price so it was like all extras were free. Unfortunately, we couldn't give it an outing until now (September). The first time putting it up was slightly trial and error - maybe clearer instructions are needed (about 1 1/2 hours to put up, maybe 45 mins next time) It's a nice size but as a 6 berth it might be 2 adults and 4 children.

The holiday. Arrived late in the dark (after a 9 hour drive!), in the driving rain and wind in west Wales. Single handedly I managed to get the main body of the tent up in under 15 minutes. Despite this the inside of the tent was dry and bedroom pods took no time. For first time campers this was perfect. Made for comfortable family camping, the Hi Gear Zenobia Eclipse 6 is a spacious 6-person tent with a central lobby and vis-a-vis bedrooms, with ample room for your gear, your furniture and yourselves. A glamorous all-inclusive beach holiday abroad might be on many people's wish lists, but nothing can beat the great outdoors. The Zenobia 6 is a tunnel tent design, making it easy to pitch (see instructions on pitching a tunnel tent). A four-person tent is often comprised of two separated spaces and should be sufficient for a family of four.

The insect mesh doors and vents allow plenty of light and air to flow through the tent - without any bugs! I don't mind if the tent only lasts a few years, but I don't want to buy something which will only last a few days.... Vis-a-vis family tents always focus on the sleeping space, rather than the living space. It’s the limitation of the design. The Zenobia 6 and 8 are for those who can accept that the living space is limited, and don’t mind that the family will have to spend most of the time outside the tent during the day. However, both Zenobia tents have a living room large enough for the whole family in case it rains. At Christmas time in the southern hemisphere the winds tent to be quite high 40mph to 70mph, with 13mm wound poles this tent is excellent in these conditions, if Zenobia were to construct their poles of aluminium instead of fibre glass this tent would with stand all the different types of weather the Falklands has to offer campers during the summer season. Its climate control design means it should be 5C cooler during the day and 1C warmer at night when comparing to the outside temperature.We used this porch for a week long camp with our Zenobia Elite 6 and found it to be a fantastic addition to our camp setup. The largest poled tent from the British tent company, Olpro - the Winchenford 3.0 can sleep up to eight and would be ideal for a large family. Another great option from Vango, this technical poled tent can sleep up to six but would perhaps be more comfortable for a family of four with additional living space. Prior to your trip, we'd suggest testing out your family tent somewhere local or in a garden if that's possible. This way you'll better see whether the tent is going to serve you well, as sometimes images and descriptions can't portray the full picture. Bought the porch to go on our Zenobia tent, had the tent a few years but with 5 of us the space inside was small, so got the porch to make more seating area and to have more space inside if it rained. We had a nightmare putting it up, had to adjust it many times as it just never looked like it fitted right,it never fitted snugly against the tent so rain came in the sides and it was windy when we fitted it and it nearly flew off, it took 3 adults to hold it down, its like a kite.
