About this deal

Girls will laugh and swoon with RANSOM MY HEART. Princess Mia Thermopolis, heroine of Meg Cabot's THE PRINCESS DIARIES, pens a fun, flirty debut novel that's spiced with the occasional mishap. Immature Characters—I read The Princess Diaries: The Royal Wedding when it came out and really enjoyed it! I guess I thought that this would feel more like that…but I don’t think it did. Mia felt like she hadn’t grown up at all. I didn't expect Sheriff de Brissac to have a heart. I thought he was going to be an antagonist, but he's a genuine character and a hero. At last, Mia is a junior. An upperclassperson. Free of her responsibilities as student body president. So why is it that everything is going so terribly wrong? What is she doing in Intro to Creative Writing? When she has made it through Algebra and Geometry, why must she be faced with Precalculus? And for the love of all that is Genovian, why has Lilly nominated her for school prez again? All this is nothing compared to the news Michael springs on her, however. On top of all the mathematical strife, her beloved boyfriend is leaving for Japan for a year. Precalc has nothing on preparing for the worst separation ever!

The Princess Diaries (11 book series) Kindle Edition

And of course Grandmere, who has a plan to keep Genovia from being thrown out of the EU that seems to include making unscheduled appearances in the hallways of Albert Einstein High in her tiara, and forcing her only granddaughter to fondle the body parts of long deceased saints . . . John Paul "J.P." Reynolds Abernathy IV: Initially known as "The Guy Who Hates It When They Put Corn In the Chili", J.P. meets Mia via Grand-mère's school musical in Party Princess. According to the original young adult novels, Genovia has a population of about 50,000 despite its small size. That would be greatly expanded in later books when refugees from Qalif fled the dictatorial rule in their country. Speaking of Monaco, that country harbors a good relationship with Genovia, being closely tied to their Grimaldi family. With all of these facts and in-depth history, it would certainly seem that the country is a real place. Unfortunately, that's not the case. I, unfortunately, did not enjoy this one that much. While I did enjoy seeing how Mia and the country of Genovia responded to COVID-19, I thought this installment was tedious and would have been better as a novella. I did love the cameos of the wide variety of characters we know and love from The Princess Diaries. Overall, it just wasn’t for me.Princess in Waiting – Between canceled dates with her long-sought-after royal consort, a second semester of the dreaded Algebra, more princess lessons from Grandmère, and the inability to stop gnawing on her fingernails, isn’t there anything Mia is good at besides inheriting an unwanted royal title? Pros: It was a cute fun read. If you are in the mood for moderatly smutty, self indulgent, completely fluffy romance. Which as it happens I sometimes am. It's pretty funny. Common Sense is the nation's leading nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of all kids and families by providing the trustworthy information, education, and independent voice they need to thrive in the 21st century. Inevitably, things begin to heat up as Finn uses herself as bait to lure Hugo. Her hostage is all too happy to find himself the center of attention of such a determined huntress. Princess in Pink – In her heart of hearts, Mia has but one wish: an evening spent with Michael in a tux and a corsage on her wrist – in other words, the prom. Michael, however, does not seem to share the dream that is the prom.

The Princess Diaries Series by Meg Cabot - Goodreads

Unfortunately none of the side characters were developed as well as our two protagonist, which meant that I didn't really liked any of them, especially because the antagonists overshadowed the good/neutral characters. If you grew up with this series, this is absolutely the return to the universe that you wanted. But it's not for people who aren't die-hard fans. If you liked this series in passing, this book may not be for you... but if Mia and Lilly and Tina were your best friends growing up, you will love this book, flaws and all. Meh. All I can think is that I liked the beginning and I liked how badass Finnula Crais was at the beginning. I liked her huntress skills and her leather trousers and her defiance but then along came her pregnant sister Mellana with a ridiculous plan to gain money. I swear I laughed my ass off at the ridiculousness of the whole kidnapping idea, I mean honestly that was just childish. Return to Genovia with the spin-off series From the Notebooks of a Middle School Princess―this time through the illustrated diary of a spunky new heroine: Princess Mia’s long-lost half-sister, Olivia! And you gave me so much Fat Louie content but you don't even introduce me to Mia's babies!!!! What is up with that Meg!?

Princess Diaries a Real Place? - CBR Is Genovia From The Princess Diaries a Real Place? - CBR

If you are totally left-wing, you will love this book-if you are very strongly right-wing, you may hate it. Hopefully, you are somewhere in the middle and will find you enjoy the messages you will receive from this novel. The dialogues are sparkling, the hassles between Finnula and Hugo are delightful, and obviously they enjoy them as much as the reader. Really, if you're a fan of this series I don't know if I can really recommend it to you. I thought Royal Wedding ended on such a strong note-there was an actual plot there and character development. This book is just about Mia being a lush, over eating, needing to get some Lady Clairol, and needing to put Grandmere in a home. How far we've come: I'm in my 30s now and can't be bothered to be sheepish about whatever I choose to read (and anyway...e-readers for the win). But some things haven't changed, and I knew the second I saw this book that I'd be reading it as soon as humanly possible. How could I not? One must keep up with the world news, after all, and that includes the goings-on in Genovia. It's kinda cringe that Mia is still insecure about Judith Gershner after all these years. It's not like Michael and Judith ever had a long-term relationship; they hooked up once and that was it. I can understand teenage Mia freaking out about it, but adult Mia, wedded mother of two, whose husband had never given her reason to worry? Just comes off as silly Finn may be a seventeen-year-old tomboy, but even when head-over-heels in love, she knows better than to compromise herself or her family over some guy. Likewise, it's super-refreshing to have a hero and heroine who have lives and dreams outside of each other. The Princess Diaries, Volume VI: Princess in Training, March 2005 - a.k.a. - Six Appeal or Sixsational Personally, I haven't been in the happiest place lately and desperately needed a comforting hug. Unfortunately I abhor hugs.
