About this deal

Aaron Schubert is a 4WD and camping nut, who's a qualified Maintenance Planner and Mechanical Fitter, and has extensive Industrial Maintenance experience. Lastly, always follow the seam of your tent when pegging guylines or ensuring pegging points are taught.

With our previous soft floor camper trailer, we had to put pegs into the corners of the tent as a minimum, and I had some big 12mm steel pegs that were about 400mm long. The major issue with traditional pegs is that they can be a mission to pull out. Sure, you can use another peg to make it easier, or a peg removal tool, but sometimes you still struggle for a long time, and that’s not much fun. The screw in pegs simply unwind, and cause you no stress or issues at all. Light weight Ezy Anchor is the product of some 25 years of camping and caravanning across Australia – from Fraser Island to Lawn Hill to Kakadu to Broome to Esperance, Broken Hill and beyond.Compared to large, traditional pegs, these drill in tent pegs are much lighter, and you get away with much smaller pegs as they provide far more grab into the ground than a traditional peg. I’d have no issues using half size screw in pegs, as long as the ground is solid. Using Screw in Tent Pegs

These are a great choice for use on all ground types, depending on the length of the peg. We would recommend that ‘V’ pegs should be used on the main pegging points i.e. four corners of your tent and main guyline/storm straps. Not only that, but if your tent pegs aren’t quite up to the challenge, you may find yourself in a situation where your tent isn’t strong enough to withstand the elements, such as strong gusts of wind. Tent pegs are used to secure your tent into place, helping to create a stronger and more comfortable shelter. They’ll make sure that your tent isn’t as susceptible to bad weather conditions, providing you with much-needed protection against your tent becoming compromised from windy conditions. Do tents come with pegs?

You can manually install some of these, but it takes more time, and unless you are very limited with what you can take, a drill is well and truly worth throwing in. Durable, strong and extremely practical, the Screw Pro Pegs from Blue Diamond feature a 20cm screw-in steel shaft with a tapered steel spike to drive into any ground type and keep your tent or awning safe and secure. Featuring a 13mm bolt head on each peg, you can drive these into the ground using a cordless drill to achieve optimum holding capacity. A must-have for any camper.
