Description

If the deposits you are dealing with are proving to be particularly stubborn, not remedied by the application of the aforementioned cleaners, a more potent product may provide the solution. Sentinel Deposit Remover is a mildly acidic formula designed to dissolve obstinate magnetite and scale deposits. If the radiators are hot at the bottom but cold at the top, the issue is more likely to be air than sludge in the radiators.

I read online that I should have open the bleed valves a bit whilst draining the system. So with this new information I started bleeding the radiators downstairs starting with the one closet to the boiler, which caused more water to come out of the drain valve When you drain the X800, do you refill the system with plain water and drain it again to drain away any remaining loosened dirt?

I have repiped system and new rads to the house except for 2 rads in attic rooms. (existing rads and system were full of it). I went upstairs and started bleeding the radiators there too which caused water to come out of the bleed valves on the radiators downstairs that I had left open Sealed Systems: If the system is empty, add to any convenient point before filling. If full, use a Sentinel Dosing Vessel to inject via the filling loop or other access point.

Sentinel X800 Fast Acting Cleaner can be added to the system in a number of ways. For open vented systems, dose via the expansion tank during the final fill. For empty sealed systems, add to any convenient point before filling. For full sealed systems, use a Sentinel Dosing Vessel to inject via the filling loop or other access point. It can also be dosed through a powerflushing machine. A constant flow of water kept on coming out of the radiator that is the closet to the drain valve which confuses me as no more water is coming out of the external and only drain valve Thanks Tony, exactly the answer I was looking for. Will buy from of those Fernox DS40, I was not aware of this make. I am also planning on cleaning the magnaclean filter, could this also be part of the root cause to my issue? continue to flush through with fresh water until water runs clear without sediment. catch some in the palm of your hand, you will see small bits easier.power-flushing etc is probably the right thing to do after, but since I'm changing most of mine soon I'll do that later.

If your system does not have a filter, then first job would be to fit one,Magnaclean Pro 2 among the best & easiest to fit, the filter will collect any crud dislodge by the cleaner. I usually use Sentinel x100 but Fernox range seems very similar. Have you got any preferences yourself? I've been given conflicting advice about it, ranging from 1 to 3 hours to 2 weeks and I see the same said online. Thanks for the link. I have run some searches which suggest that it may take up to 3 days to 'clean' a system that was non-powerflushed.The new formulation Sentinel X800 Fast Acting Cleaner is now available in all good plumbing, heating and builders' merchants.

I then opened all of the thermostatic valves on all 7 radiators, turned on the boiler by the mains and turned the temperature up to 25 degrees by the thermostat But neither remove sludge. Both are chellating agents which try to get loose particles into suspension.X400 somehow seems to lose the power to keep dirt in suspension if left much more than about five weeks.
