About this deal

The Optimus Polaris Optifuel Stove is the new benchmark for maximum versatility and ease of use in outdoor cooking. This set comes with the 0.4L Fuel bottle. Soto stoves are an excellent option when it comes to choosing the right stove. While there are a variety of features you should consider when looking for the best stove for your needs, here are some tips to help you make the best choice.

Bushwalk Australia • View topic - Jetboil VS MSR VS the rest

The Windmaster is designed to be incredibly lightweight, at just 3.2 ounces, making it the lightest stove of its kind on the market. When I put it on or take it off the cannister I always get a blast of fuel leaking out. This is especially bad with a new cannister. I have been using my Jetboil for more than 10 years and even when I unscrewed the cannister slowly I never experienced a leak like this. The Soto Amicus stove is compatible with standard isobutane canisters such as Primus, Snow Peak, MSR, and Jetboil. Small canister stoves are generally pretty good at simmering, and so is the WindMaster. The first quality we look at is how low we can turn the stove down before it goes out. Our testers found this one could be turned down so low that it is easily blown out by any disturbance in the ambient air. If you turn it up just a hair, the flame is low enough to simmer without blowing out. While there is some resistance from the control valve that allows you to dial in the exact amount of heat needed, we would have preferred a little more fuel valve resistance. A very good option for those who like to cook and like a bit of versatility in their stove set ups Buy One

The Windmaster’s burner also has a wide flame spread, which makes it easy to cook larger meals. The stove’s controls are easy to use and adjust, allowing for precision flame control. Anthill wrote:Hi crollsurf, just wondering what your walking stove is to cook real food rather than boil water? Its three-pronged design also allows for superior stability while using the stove. The Amicus Stove is another great option from Soto, providing a powerful and fast boiling stove that features a wind-resistant design. It has an adjustable flame control and can be used with a variety of fuel canisters.

Well done the Japanese for entering this crowded market, normally dominated by the US and Scandinavia, and coming up with something so utterly beautiful. It’s a great stove and works especially well with pots that come with an in built heat exchanger, if you don’t have these it dos’nt matter, as this stove will cook/boil so much faster than other designs with standard pots.

SOTO WindMaster Stove with Micro Regulator + 4Flex | UK

Walking Gaiters Walking gaiters offer a range of benefits that can help improve your walking experience. They are designed to keep your trousers clean and prevent rain and moisture from creeping up your leg. Read more I’m a big fan of the Soto Windmaster. It feels like a well-made stove, performs well in wind and the piezo igniter is a really great feature. It is now my first choice for wild camps most of the year round, and I’d recommend it for Mountain Leader Training and Assessment expeditions. The keyword for the Soto WindMaster is consistency. It is reliable and consistent in windy conditions (thanks to its burner shape and low pot stand) and across a great temperature range (thanks to the microregulator). The wide burner spreads the flame out nicely and you have good control over the heat for its size. I used it to cook pancakes in my garden during Storm Malik, and throughout a year of use it hasn’t been blown out once by the wind. The Piezo Ignition has also been very reliable, and although my lighter has always been in my bag I’ve never needed to use it.
