Elliott, Louise (2 April 2021). "First pictures from Gladstone Pottery as filming starts for The Colour Room starring Bridgerton actress Phoebe Dynevor". Stoke Sentinel . Retrieved 11 April 2021. Phoebe Dynevor and Matthew Goode preparing for their roles in The Colour Room at Wedgwood (Image: Sky) What’s the story? A gothic portmanteau Western in which two strangers spin scary tales around a campfire. Like most anthology films, the individual stories are hit-and-miss. But what makes Grim Prairie Tales such a lost gem are the wraparound segments in which Dourif’s uptight city clerk is forced to spend a long, dark night of the soul with Jones’ grotesque bounty hunter (and the corpse he’s got in tow).

So, there were two brothers, Guy and Colley and they had taken over their father’s business, which was Wilkinson’s, and they owned several factories. They had come to prominence, and their father was sort of a self-made man in the mid-nineteenth century when he started [the factory] and the boys took it over with varying degrees of success. Colley, my character, he’s about being bold and wants to take chances and risks because that’s how you grow a company, and Guy wasn’t, so they were at loggerheads. And when we join the film, a lot of factories are being closed down, the potteries are in trouble, and if you’re losing money, surely, you should concentrate on the old stuff that you know makes money. This section does not cite any sources. It’s thanks to his support that Clarice goes on to design the art deco "Bizarre" range, making her a household name and ensuring the factory’s survival. Colley also later becomes her husband. Matthew was most recently seen in Sky One’s fantasy-romance A Discovery of Witches, based on the book trilogy series by Deborah Harkness. Clarice lives at home in a two-up two-down with her mum and sister. Every second of her spare time she paints: art deco-inspired patterns on china in sunshiny bright bursts of colour. Old duffers in the industry mansplain why women won’t buy her cheap and cheerful pottery (“you’ll find the modern woman has a more refined taste”). But Clarice knows exactly what women want (her Bizarre collection eventually sold more than 8.5m pieces). The film catches the excitement of this moment for Clarice, and Dynevor’s performance is wonderful. Official trailer and launch date revealed for Sky Original film, The Colour Room". It is no surprise that Peate was keen to write this biopic, as Cliff is an inspiring figure in many ways. She became a star in her field at a time when it was exceptionally difficult for a woman to get ahead, and she had trailblazing ideas. She also played a significant role in revolutionising how pieces are sold by moving them out of the art fairs and galleries and taking them straight to the target customers.Stoke Film Theatre is currently still closed due to the pandemic but a spokesman said they plan to show The Colour Room when they are able to re-open. Its story sees the soldiers of the 2nd Company returning home and struggling to readjust to civilian life after the horrors of World War I. But its anti-war and anti-German stance made Universal nervous, and it was drastically cut to dull its message. Whale later cited it as the worst job he ever had.
