About this deal

This is a super easy read that I read in basically one sitting. If you’re looking for a fast thriller with some fabulous twists then this is a must for you! childhood best friends embark on a hike in the Norwegian mountains… what could possibly go wrong? Haha… you know it, if it can go wrong it will go wrong. They don’t all want to be there and have secrets that they are keeping from each other. Could these secrets be the end of their friendships, or lives? Read it and find out. It's a fun ride, I love hiking in the great outdoors, especially in more isolated areas on multi day hikes so for me this book was a show in. Brilliantly written, lots of red herrings and a twist I was not expecting. If you love a character driven thriller in an eerie claustrophobic atmosphere definitely give this one a go. Four women who are the closest of friends take a girls trip every year and this year they choose something different which will be out of their comfort zones. They decide to fly to Norway to go hiking in the beautiful and possibly dangerous mountains for four carefree days to escape their everyday mundane routines and life problems while also catching up with one another's lives including babies, husbands careers and also some regrettable life choices over the years. Not all the women are thrilled with the idea mountain hiking yet they're always supportive of one another even when they'd rather be on a sunny and warm beach in some other beautiful, exotic location.

So far we’ve walked 120 miles of the SWCP. Some of these miles have been done as day hikes, others as multi-day hikes, wild camping along the way. I imagine it’ll take us several years to complete the whole thing. Will the children still want to hike with us when they hit their teens? I couldn’t tell you. What I do know is that during this past year, our happiest times as a family have been out on that trail. That’s enough motivation for me to keep on walking. All you need to knowThank you to Lucy Clarke, G.P. Putnam's Sons, and NetGalley for a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.

During the entire read I had that nagging feeling I’d read this before. Perhaps it was just one of those books.💁🏻‍♀️ There have been quite a few books about groups of friends or colleagues going camping or hiking and one doesn’t return. I thought this might be similar and focus on the aftermath or fallout of a missing hiker…. with the remaining group having to keep silent in a ‘ what happens on hike stays on hike‘ kinda thing. Four women who have been friends since high school have decided to go on a hiking holiday in Norway.

The Hike is a triumph, an immersive sense of place with a thread of tension taut enough to snap. I loved it' JANE SHEMILT Seeking the escape of a lifetime, four friends hike out into the beautiful Norwegian wild - nothing between them and the mountain peak but forest, sea and sharp blue sky. I received a gifted advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review as part of the book tour hosted by Insta Book Tours. Four friends set off on one of their regular holiday trips. Not to a beach this time, no, to a rather strenuous hike with wild camping in Norway. There are tensions and turmoil within the four friends and it's made worse by the natural strain from this sort of holiday. Plus, a local woman went missing here a year ago and was never found, so a killer could be on the lose. As a woman, she'd been taught to walk with confidence, to look like she knew where she was going. To not show weakness, because a predator senses it. How do you do that in the Norwegian wilderness with no clue where you are?

Another thrilling novel from author Lucy Clarke . . . This one keeps you engaged throughout.”— Red Carpet Crash We are wild camping on the South West Coast Path. It is a 630-mile route that starts in Minehead in Somerset and follows the coast of Devon and Cornwall, ending in Poole Harbour in Dorset. Last September, my husband James and I decided we’d like to try and hike the length of it with our two children, Tommy (8) and Darcy (6). Our only goal is to complete it as a family by the time the children have finished secondary school. Out in the wild, I’ve witnessed something magical happening with my children. They are energised and capable of walking 10 miles a day All in all, a solid popcorn thriller that was different than the usual "is my husband secretly a killer?" books. The final showdown was ... le cringe, but again, popcorn thriller. Every time I dive into one of Lucy Clarke’s novels, I cross my fingers and hope that it’s going to be just as good as the last one of hers that I’d read. And yet again, I was thrilled to find that The Hike somehow managed to live up to all of my rather high expectations.Eight novels in and Lucy Clarke just keeps getting better. The Hike is easily my favourite Lucy Clarke novel to date. I love a good isolated thriller mystery novel and The Hike is a fabulous example of a destination thriller. Fans of Lucy Clarke and newcomers will lap this one up in no time at all. Atmospheric, haunting, and beautifully written. This is Lucy Clarke at her best' GILLIAN MCALLISTER The farther they get from the picturesque lodge, however, the less certain they all become. Between glimpses of mysterious figures and whispered stories that allude to unseen dangers, the women begin to wonder if they ever truly knew what they were getting into. And now they find themselves farther away from civilization than any of them have ever been before.
