You can connect to the D8 from up to 100 feet away, which is pretty impressive for any Bluetooth device. Walk around your yard during a barbecue, and your phone won’t suddenly disconnect from the speaker. In addition, the D8 also has a 3.5mm aux input. In a pinch, you can continue to use it even after the internal battery has died. The sound quality is pretty good. The bass delivery is probably the weakest link and the only thing we are not happy with. The mids are very detailed and well balanced. The same goes for highs. The sound signature is quite mid-centric. It’s best equipped for vocal-centric music. The JBL Flip 6 is a durable and powerful portable Bluetooth speaker with a long battery life, PartyBoost feature, and water and dust resistance. If you’re familiar with Bose equipment, you’re probably aware that they don’t really offer much info about the internal components and other specs. We don’t know what Bluetooth version they used but it works pretty great. You can pair the speaker with your phone the old way or you can use the NFC. Both ways are pretty fast. The connection is stable within the 30ft range. The speaker can memorize up to 8 phones and two phones can be connected at the same time ( multipoint pairing). The sound quality itself is also excellent. The M83 contains a pair of 28-watt mid-bass speakers, a pair of 4-watt tweeters, and two subwoofer diaphragms. The subwoofer diaphragms are not powered. Instead, they’re designed to enhance vibrations from the mid-bass speakers, but they do add a lot of punch. Overall, you’re looking at 50 watts of total power, which is a lot for such a small speaker. The quality is excellent across the spectrum, with no interference between the highs, lows, and mids. You’ll get clear, crisp vocals, shimmering strings and cymbals, and plenty of bass punch. This is true even at max volume, where you won’t hear any rattle or muddiness whatsoever. One of the neat features that sets the D8 apart from other rugged portable Bluetooth speakers is the ability to pair with another D8 speaker to form a stereo pair.
